We had an excellent experience at this restaurant. We enjoyed the amazing vibes and the food. The staff were very affable. I’m happy we finally decided to visit this place.

I've been coming to this place since my best friend moved down the street. I come up from CT to visit every few months. We always make a quick stop for some beers, great wings, and karaoke night. It's always a blast. Good food, good prices, always a good experience. Long live JJ Brans!

What. The. Hell....happened to our JJ Brannelly's?! Haven't been there in a couple of months, but decided to reward my boyfriend for jarring homemade jelly all day with a bite at the corner for dinner. We've always enjoyed coming here, it's always been a welcoming joint with friendly, down to earth bartenders and a lively neighborhood atmosphere - Just real people running a good neighborhood bar. Management take notice: This is no longer the case!!! After we sat at the bar for a few minutes it began to strike me something was off. The lighting was dimmer (and not in a romantic way), and for a Saturday night, there were maybe 12 people in there, tops. Then we noticed that we didn't recognize a soul in there. Not the bartenders, or anyone else. It was weird how off it was. It felt like someone replaced the bar I knew with a crap facsimile. The other reviewer, Honest A this December 11th nailed it. This place is crashing fast. What he said about the cook was spot on, because after my steak tips came out, 2 minutes later, there he was at the bar, talking to people. My guy's JJ Burger lacked the signature mushrooms and my mashed potatoes were so cold the butter didn't melt at all. This is so sad. I don't understand what happened there, it was such a dependable place. I pray something changes, or someone else buys it and picks it up. Go up the street to Pleasant Cafe.

This bar is crashing quickly! Used to be a good neighborhood bar, but the extremely poor management is pushing it to the brink of closing. The place is empty often during the day when it used to have a large local regular's enjoying the end of their workday. Now you have a new joke of a bartender who claims he's been a bartender for every place you wish to listen to, yet is the worst bartender. He has since moved into the kitchen recently as a cook, yet spends more time at the bar then back in the kitchen! Serious mistakes due to poor management of this place who even "Bar Rescue" couldn't attempt to help.

Jimmy, the new manager (maybe new maybe not but definitely was at Doyle’s before) is fantastic. He made our visit a ton of fun! He had a new hire, Jamie, today and she was great as well! Really nice people. Really great dive bar. Hoping to be a regular one day like some of the men I’ve met today! Really great atmosphere. Good food. Good company. Good drinks. Can’t ask for more!

Hidden gem of Roslindale! My fiancé and I both had burgers. Cooked very well and it was delicious! Prices are reasonable. It was a pleasure to meet the very friendly owner. We will be back again.
Had a drink and ordered food to go. I do come here a couple times a week. I had paid my bill and ready too leave when the bartender came back to tell me the owner said i was undercharged and he wanted $11.00 more. I have never had this happen before. I paid the $11.00 because he said he would take it out of the bartenders money. I will never order food from this establishment again. What a way to run a business ! There was literally 3 people there and the owner thought that that was the right decision. Unfortunately the staff are the people that lose out on the tip! Just too bad $11.00 meant more to him, then me ordering food every week.

JJs is the hidden gem of Roslindale MA. The food is excellent and the weekend entertainment is amazing. Each Friday and Saturday JJs has Karaoke and Dancing from 9:30pm until 1:30am. These 2 shows hosted by Kev Mack Daddy and Demetri the Greek have been voted Boston's Best. Try the Pizza and the Steak Tips. However the whole menu is top notch.
