A&J King have been selling excellent traditional french bakery items for years now and have become a local institution. Over time, they've slowly been adding more vegan options to the menu. Vegan muffins, cheese, and cream cheese are available daily. They also sometimes have vegan cake, sandwich, and soup specials. There's at least one vegan employee that I know of and the staff is knowledgeable and accommodating. Plus, there's excellent coffee from local favorite roaster, Coffee by Design.

If I make it back to this area I’ll definitely be coming back here. The food was delicious, but the chai latte was my favorite. The staff was very friendly and very helpful answering any questions I had about the menu and just the area of Salem in general. Loved the atmosphere the morning I was there. It was a little busy, but there wasn’t a wait. I found a table easily, got my order quickly, and enjoyed the vibe.

Best tasting pumpkin latte I've ever had in my LIFE. The real roasted pumpkin really makes a world of difference. Sbux could never. The apple orchard sandwich was also exceptional.
IDK why it took me so long to try their brick & mortar location, but I'll 100% be back.

Not only is the product amazing, but it is one of the best ,locally sourced ingredients bread made on the Northshore. Plus natural or organic flours without the chemicals we now simply take for granted.

It’s my favourite place to go on my lunch break, thanks to the amazing food and incredible staff. Everyone who works there is SO lovely and I cannot overstate how much I appreciate the work they do and the good vibe they provide. Their chai lattes keep me going through the Halloween season!
