Wonderful food!
This is a real gem. The decor transports you to Morocco. The service was great. The food delicious. They had several options for Tagine. We ordered the Moroccan and the shrimp, both wonderful. Many GF options.
I will definitely go again.
Decor, service, food, all on point. They even had San Felipe Malbec on the menu, a rare nostalgic gem. Price was a little steep for mine, $28 for a veggie dish. But that’s also not totally out of the ordinary when going out nowadays. Will be going back for sure.
Fantastic food & service!
Went in for a cocktail and dessert. Absolutely amazing. Will be back for dinner.
This is an attractive spot with a fairly varied menu. The appetizer of Moroccan meatballs was tasty and satisfying. My braised lamb shank was very good, flavorful and tender. But my wife’s grilled combo of lamb, beef and chicken was totally bland and unseasoned. Ok, but not very good. And do yourself a favor by not ordering the homemade bread for $4.50. It’s a fluffy, flavorless, slap dash mix of yeast, flour and water with no redeeming qualities.
The major flaw here is service. We went on a busy Saturday night. Along with the owner, who took meal orders and greeted and seated arriving guests, there was just one other server/waitress. And she clearly had the most tables to cover.
After being seated, we waited about 15 minutes to order appetizers. After another 10-15 minutes I had to walk over to the waitress and cut short the life story she was telling guests at that table and politely asked if she could take our order.
She was fine and doing her best. Service is terrible because the owner isn’t willing to hire a third server, at least not for the busiest night of the week. Obviously, he didn’t care much about wait times or guests growing hungry and impatient.
Will not be returning. Completely disgusting dining experience. Owner should close and go back to selling shoes.
Update: Interesting remarks from owner. Notice he never apologizes for the poor service. I guess I didn’t see the help wanted ad on your menu. Like most people who dine out, I was probably focusing on the food choices. Perhaps you should post ads for help in some other places, like newspaper classifieds or indeed.com. It’s unlikely that many prospects see the ad on your menu. What a silly place to advertise.
Amazing flavors, great service and I cannot wait to go again.
We shared 3 appetizers and one entree. The falafel on a bed of hummus with harissa was the best I’ve ever had. The mussels (out of the shell) were in a spicy tomato sauce that was perfect and plentiful.
I do think the saffron shrimp could have been more flavorful.
The final item was the chicken couscous. While the chicken was a tad overcooked, the flavors and spices were outstanding.
I look forward to returning often.

Clearly marked vegetarian section of the menu that is easily "veganized" when requested. Staff is super accommodating and the food was amazing. Presentation was beautiful and the amount of food you get is almost ridiculous. We took at least half our meals with us for the next day.

Not enough people know about this place. It should be a lot busier than it is. Delicious food and delightful people!

I don’t even know where to begin or how to explain how astronomically mouthwatering the food is here… This was my first time coming it was myself and my boyfriend. We live in Salem and we had no idea that this gem was hidden here… The atmosphere is so stunning the beautiful Moroccan pieces on the walls and the curtains. The server Sydney was also just so effortlessly perfect at her job. I got an espresso martini and I can say it’s probably one of the best ones in the North Shore and I’m not even kidding you…. My boyfriend got a passionfruit Mojito and he was absolutely obsessed.. We didn’t expect much because we had never heard of this place but Lord, were we wrong. For an appetizer, we got the mosaic platter and it gave us a little taste of everything. For dinner, we shared the special they had for the night, a seafood paella. For dessert, we got the crêpes.. I already want to go back. This is definitely a place to check out if you love ethnic foods and really good High-quality drinks in Salem…

We decided to try this place for a birthday dinner. To our surprise, we were some of the only people here on a Friday night, which seemed a bit odd. We ordered beers and a houmus appetizer to start. The houmus was delicious, and the grilled pita was nice. I had ordered a Stella draft, and right away thought our beers had been switched. After trying the other, I realized either the beer was wrong or turning. Being as unsure as I was, I simply drank the beer. We are not the kind of people who complain.
We each ordered a tagine main, mine being with chicken and my guest with lamb. Coming out, the orders looked impressive. That's where the excitement ended. The lamb was supposed to be braised, but it was so flavorless and dry that it was hard to believe. It was like the lamb was day old and boiled in water. The chicken in my dish was pounded thin, but there was definitely something off there, also. I kept having to check to make sure it wasn't undercooked, as it had a tough and off texture to it. There were several pieces, and each tasted and felt the same. Very unappealing. The vegetable and sauce part of our dishes was fine, tasted good, and had us both wishing we had gone vegetarian.
At this time, I ordered another beer, and to my dismay, I had the same souring taste as the original. I'm still unsure if I was served the incorrect thing/taps were mixed up, or if the beer was the issue. Either way, I confirmed by having a can of the correct beer a day or so later, and im sure there is a problem there.
We decided to get a pistachio mouse cake for dessert. My partner liked it, but I was not a fan. To me, it had something sour to it and just wasn't working with the pistachio.
All in all, it was a disappointing dinner to have spent almost $150 dollars on to discard our leftovers. (I also wish that someone had informed us that the portions are large because we may have split and entree and ordered more apps). The waitress was very attentive and checked in frequently to see how we were doing. One and done for us. (I only took one photo of the chicken dish).
