Went there yesterday and ended up paying 40% tip at this self serve shack because they don’t tell you that the bill already includes tip. I felt really ripped off because there are no signs nor does anyone say something. Food was good but 40% tip???

Loved it! Amazing lobster roll and fries. Everything on the menu looks fantastic and the prices are really fair.
Great location in Salem Willows. The staff is super friendly and Angelo is the best!

We traveled from BUFFALO NY with a mission to find THE BEST lobster roll on the East Coast, and boy oh boy did we find it! We were in Boston for our son’s heart transplant testing and had asked around town where to go… every person we came in contact with told us to make the drive to Salem and eat at the Clam Shack!
From start to finish, the experience was perfect. The staff was phenomenal. Quick, attentive, and excited to answer all of our questions.
We order (2) brioche lobster rolls, the blue crab roll, and steamers. The broth and butter is to die for!
A big shout out to the owner who came and introduced himself and his 2 newly adopted daughters 😉 who were so sweet to our family. We can’t wait to make this a regular stop on our monthly Boston trips!
Run! Don’t walk, to the Clam Shack! 100/10

Lobster roll was great. The bread is very buttery and salty so that really set off the flavor. Everything else is fried. The scallops and fish were very tasty, lightly battered. Fries were decent. You sit outside and look out at the water so its very pretty! You can get your lobster roll hot or cold. Both ways were good. Fish was light and flaky. Everything was very very good.

Great place if your craving good clam strips. They are cooked to perfection and I loved the salt added to the fries. I also appreciate the to-go packaging with holes to vent the steam. My meal did not get soggy at all.

We were visiting Salem and wanted to try a lobster roll outside of the higher Boston prices. Google brought us to the Clam Shack. It is pretty much a shack on the water, but it serves great food! The lobster roll was nicely filled and on a delicious roll. The hot dog was grilled and in a really soft bun. The hot dog dinner came with onion rings, fries and a salad. For a lobster roll, hot dog dinner and 2 large sodas, it was about $40. The staff was very friendly. The seagulls, however, were a little too friendly. If you eat at the picnic tables, be ready to defend your food.

Tried their lobster roll, onion rings and scallops. All were pretty good although the lobster roll could’ve had more lobster. I caught the sun setting which made the whole experience that much better as you’re right on the shoreline.

Superb find. Stores and shops don't open until 11:am Saturdays, but worth the wait, and you can watch the ocean nearby. Ample food and reasonable prices. A personal thank you to Anna for helping me get service via WiFi on my phone so I could bike home. Keep up the excellent work!

My husband and I shared a box of fried calamari and the batter was very light, fluffy and fresh tasting. The size was ample and the young adult who took our order was kind and efficient. The picnic tables all had umbrellas and were clean, the view of the harbor is very nice and they had classic pop music playing from their outdoor speakers which was fun to listen to. We will be back to try more on the large menu they offer.

We walked up to The Willows in the morning and walked around the park for a bit before stopping here for lunch. The Clam Shack was the perfect, casual spot for an afternoon bite. We enjoyed a table in the shade overlooking the water with delicious (and affordable!) lobster rolls. We already can’t wait to go back the next time we are in Salem.

The fish sandwich and chicken fingers were very good and very expensive. Two people had lunch and lemonade for a grand total of $50.
