It's now The Black Cat Diner, and the food, and service is wonderful. They're very popular, so the food may be a little slow coming out, but well worth the wait. The only concern is the one restroom. You have to go outside through the alley to access it. It's kind of dark and creepy, but again,, the inconvenience is worth the food and wonderful service.
We drove up a little before 6am, the server was kind enough to tell us they opened at 6am and we could come.
My daughter had a chocolate chip pancake. One was plenty; it was the side of the plate!
The service was excellent and attentive. The cook had some funny stories, she was nice enough to share with us. There was another couple there and it made the atmosphere lively. A cozy diner-a nice simple breakfast just right to start off our day in Salem.
The now "Black Cat Diner" welcomes you with a hearty smile and service as soon as you walk in. Great food portions, atmosphere and service. This will definitely be a regular spot for my boyfriend and I.
