I'm only giving a 3 because of their portion sizes,and the food was delicious. But that's all the chef. The server that had dark hair, piercings and tattoos was nice at first. I would have tipped more. But I'm glad I didn't because she actually commented on the tip and rolled her eyes. Mind you right in front of my 11 year old son.she had an attitude because I was the 3rd person of the day she had to break a 100 dollar bill for. She just kept complaining and it was just a very bad attitude. Plus it was really unbelievably hot in there. My son had a T-shirt on and he couldn't eat his food bc he was sweating!! Bad atmosphere. We were the only customers. I just hope this helps someone.so I'd recommend it based off their food but maybe order to go!!

Rainy Monday morning greeted by polite waitress and excellent “eggs my way”.

My girls and I attempted to eat at the Salem retreat on our first morning of our trip. We waited 20 minutes for a table after watching 7-10 people be seat AFTER we were given a buzzer to wait. We left and came to Dotty & Rays. We got a table as soon as we walked in, had water brought over immediately, drink and food orders promptly taken. The food was fantastic. We had one part of our order missing and once they realized the issue, it was remedied with speed and courtesy. Everyone was very friendly and renewed our experience in Salem. We enjoyed it some much we came back this morning. This is the place to come to a good meal and pleasant experience to start your day. Come to Dotty and Rays!

The food and service were amazing!

Mary was so friendly and quick. She checked on us while still waiting on other tables. I personally want to thank her for the superb service!

The food was delicious, I got the cheeseburger omelette (amazing), my husband got the biscuits and gravy and my sister got the terrible twos with pancakes. All of it was made to perfection and filling!

We will be back in on our next visit!

Stopped in to Dotty and Rays Diner only because it is the oldest diner in Salem…Food ,Service and Breakfast was very good and I recommend this diner to anyone …..

Chocolate chip pancakes are amazing. So much that you don't need any syrup.
Be warned, plates are big, like sharing big.
