The owner is a sweetheart. This place is great and I love the food here.

I got a crawfish boil from this place and got mostly potato’s and corn. Literally had about 7 pieces of crawfish and 3-4 potatoes/corn each in my bag. That wasn’t all, when I looked at the crawfish it still had dirt on majority of it. I’ve had a seafood boil before and know that crawfish isn’t supposed to be full of dirt. If you’re in the area looking for seafood boil please do not go to this place. Not worth a dime of your money.

The food was only okay but I can't say the price was terrible. The staff was nice and the karaoke night was fun!

Ginger is a must if you go to Salem. The food is delicious, atmosphere is fun, owner and employees are friendly, polite and efficient. They will take the time to answer your questions and give you tips about the surrounding area. Just come here. Its easy to find, right next to the Bewitched statue.

The bag meal was fantastic, we also got the shrimp po boy. So good. The mimosas were also worth going for. The Saturday night karaoke was also very fun.

We have gone here on multiple occasions and had wonderful experiences. Alice is very prompt and sweet. The food has been amazing each time. So I am shocked at the negative reviews. You will not be disappointed.

Ordered Cat fish and not good at all. Husband had the shrimp ramen and the shrimp tasted disgusting. Avoid this place! Over priced for the food we ordered. Also asked for a coke to go and they don’t do “to go”.

The food is noticeably different than a year ago: portions are a bit smaller. The taste is less flavorful.

Hard to believe the negative reviews, we came in for lunch on a Saturday in Nov, no wait and excellent view of the little square outside.
Food was fresh and fast! (And reasonably priced for a tourist area) Service was very good. Our server made really good recommendations and made a few stops back to make sure we had everything we needed.
(I ate half the beef dumplings before I thought to take a photo)

I’m compelled to share a disturbing experience I had at this establishment on 11/9/2024. I arrived around lunchtime, excited to try their menu. After I told the hostess, “Just one,” she looked at me briefly before walking away without a word. I thought it was strange but waited.

Over the next 30 minutes, I watched as eight other guests, who arrived after me, were seated promptly. Concerned, I asked one of the seated guests if they had a reservation, and they said no. At this point, I approached a staff member and asked if there was a reason I wasn’t being seated. He responded dismissively, saying, “You can go sit at the bar if you want.”

Feeling disrespected and embarrassed, I left. As a Black man, it’s difficult not to view this as a racially charged incident, especially given that all other guests (who were white) were warmly received. I hope this incident doesn’t reflect the values of the Salem community, but in any case I won’t be returning.

Great place to eat in Salem, close to outdoor mall area. Lots of vegan options. Vegetarian items listed in green on menu most are vegan or can be vegan if requested.
