I’m sad to announce our friend and neighbor Jean Louis passed away after battling cancer recently (this as of Oct 2023) . He was a fixture on Derby St and we will miss him and his delicious pasta, cheeses , bread and the best croissants and sandwiches on the N Shore . Rest in peace ?

Probably the best ravioli I’ve ever had in my life and his other pasta offerings are unique and delicious. All handmade in the shop by Jean Louis himself. Worth every penny. This is a block from the Salem Boston Ferry. Don’t miss this- this is the real deal. Baguettes made early in the morning so they have a perfect crust. My sandwich was smoked salmon w capers, tomatos, back pepper onions and French butter. Delicious. My husband had the Italian. From the first bite…. Yum.

This such a cool little shop. The guy who runs it was super helpful, gave me some recipe ideas and pulled some unique ingredients out of a secret hiding place. I went for the pasta, was pleasantly surprised with all the extras!

The owner was awesome store is small and full of dried pasta. We got 4 bags of ravioli and they r the best I've ever had we got the lamb ones and they r amazing. Panna cotta was perfect can't wait to go back

Save your Money....first the entire store is filled with cigarette smoke because I guess Jean Louis cares more about smoking in his shop than he does about his customers. Should have picked up on that hint right away but then we made the mistake of buying $30 worth of pasta. Brought it home and the pasta smells like an ash tray because of his constant smoking. Threw it away and wasted $30. No thanks Jean Louis. You should open a smoke shop instead.

Best artisanal pasta on the north shore!!! Melt a little butter and choice of herbs, boil his raviolis or tortellinis for 5 minutes and combine the pasta and butter sauce. Within 10 minutes you'll have yourself an amazing gourmet dinner for two or three!
