The breakfast and drinks were amazing. We arrived early and had no wait time and the service was great as well. We recommend!
No complaints, had breakfast here early in the morning on a Saturday in October while we were trying to beat the crowds to town. Food and service were good. Actually compared to some other locals in Salem, the staff we encountered here were exceptionally friendly. My picture is the omelet with hash and cheese-very delicious
Great food, service and prices Place is always busy, but you don’t feel rushed.food and service was excellent. Would definitely recommend
Best breakfast we have EVER HAD!!!
Loved this all-American diner. The menu was extensive, the food hearty and delicious, the staff friendly and efficient. A great experience
The food was amazing and customer service was great. Kim was super helpful with advising us must see places in Salem. Must visit this place.
Warning to Salem visitors. Do NOT order the $18 chicken pot pie at Red's Sandwich Shop. Some years ago, the chicken pot pie at Reds was among the best items on the menu. Not anymore - a tasteless pasty goopy mixture of something like white marshmellow, with a few pieces of sliced carrot and maybe 3 small pieces of chicken - shockingly bad, particularly given how good their unique flaky crust top version used to be. In fairness, Reds is an interesting local place with lots of history and in all honesty, some perfectly decent items on the menu - but their current (2025) version of chicken pot pie is vastly inferior to any Swanson frozen chicken pie that costs $14 less. It was quite literally inedible.
My family & I visited Salem for the first time & we arrived really early in the morning. Red’s opened at 7am and we were able to get a great table & an even better waitress! Jackie was beyond friendly, shared with us great places to check out and the food was really good! Highly recommend! 10/10
Read in Lonley Planet guide it was a place for food and drink. Went for lunch, food was amazing and great value for money. Good local ales, friendly staff, especially Andrew.
The restaurant is in a historic building and has decor that exhibit its history which we found interesting. There was no wait and the service was kind and swift. The food was fantastic and we came twice during our short stay. The serving sizes were large and you will not go hungry here.

We enjoyed visiting this shop! Our waitress was lovely and the food was delicious and came quickly. It's pretty affordable too! There are bathrooms inside the shop and the indoor seating is nice. It's in a nice location for shopping and touring!
My husband and I grabbed breakfast at Red’s. We both got breakfast sandwiches and the house fries. Everything was delicious!!
We visited Reds on Saturday 4/26. We had the BEST Reuben sandwich with sweet tater fries. Service was great. Food outstanding. On Sunday we were hungry and we went back to Reds!! This time I tried the chicken salad. It did not disappoint. Highly recommend. It’s a staple of Salem. Karen from Maryland
Had a wonderful burger with a coffee jam and a latte that had a beautiful blue ice flower in it! Service was speedy and friendly; being in such a historic building was great! Extremely well priced with large portions. A very relaxed atmosphere! Would absolutely recommend this restaurant!
Great place for breakfast. We were seated quickly. Service was super nice and fast. The food options were plenty for everyone we had. The quality and taste were amazing. Highly recommend the Irish breakfast.
