As a Salem local, I love being able to still enjoy a night out in the midst of all the October madness. I had an awesome experience at Sidelines Sports Bar this past Sunday. Autumn and Kylie were working the bar and provided top-notch service—fast, friendly, and attentive. The drinks were excellent, especially the espresso martini, which was one of the best I’ve had! The atmosphere for Sunday Night Football and the Celtics preseason was unmatched—great energy, great crowd. At their recommendation, I ordered the sweet chili wings, and they were absolutely to die for. Highly recommend Sidelines for a fun night out, whether you’re there for the game or just great food and drinks!

I recently visited Sidelines with a group of 10 friends for what we hoped would be a fun late-night meal. We arrived around 12:15 AM, well aware that last call for food was at 12:30 AM. We ordered about $200 worth of food, assuming we’d have enough time to enjoy our meal before the restaurant closed. Unfortunately, this was far from the case.
Despite placing our order well before the cutoff time, our food didn’t arrive until 12:45 AM. Just 10 minutes later, the staff began hounding us to pay the bill and leave, even though our food had just hit the table. We tried to explain that we needed to-go boxes since we clearly weren’t going to have time to eat, but the waitstaff was rude and dismissive. They insisted that the manager was present and that if we didn’t leave immediately, they’d be in trouble.
The most frustrating part was that they didn’t give us any warning that we would have such little time to eat. If they had just communicated this upfront, we wouldn’t have ordered so much food. Instead, we were rushed out the door, unable to take most of our food with us, and left with a sour taste in our mouths—not from the food, but from the poor customer service.
I wouldn’t recommend Sidelines to anyone looking for a place to eat late at night. The staff was more concerned with clocking out than ensuring their customers had a good experience. If you’re going to serve food, at least let your customers eat it or take it with them. This experience was disappointing, and we won’t be returning.

I've only gotten pickup. Staff is very quick to greet and make sure I get my order. Always super friendly! Not like a normal bar where they see you are there to pickup and avoid you.
Huge fan of the boneless chicken and also the salad. The dough on my pizza was severely undercooked. The pizza itself was delicious, but the undercooked crust at the end was pretty gross.

About a month ago, Sidelines hosted my boyfriend's 40th Birthday party on their patio with the fire pits, heaters and TV's. I submitted an event request on their website and Kelly reached out to help me organize it. She so graciously answered my 1000 questions, was so welcoming for me to come down and visit to see the patio, sent me pictures and videos of the space and made sure we had everything we needed. I planned well in advance so we were able to put a pre-order of food together so the kitchen could prep accordingly. She worked with the chef on quantity of food to accommodate our number of people (just under 30 people). We ordered so many different things - nachos, potato skins, fried pickles, homemade eggrolls (my favorite), mozzarella sticks, sliders (cheeseburger and fried chicken), wings with honey bbq, salem sauce, sweet chili sauce, wild buffalo, ranch, blue cheese, and honey mustard, cheese pizzas and pepperoni pizzas. The patio is such a cool space; several fire pits surrounded by a table so you can comfortably eat around the fire, it's a covered/closed in patio with heaters but can also be opened with nice weather, TV's with sound, tables and chairs, and outdoor couches and benches. They let us decorate before the party and the only thing off limits if we wanted to use the fire pits was helium which was a reasonable limitation and we didn't even need to use helium anyways. As long as we used painters tape to not damage the wood, we were able to put up anything we wanted.
The team at Sidelines was amazing. Kelly was wonderful in helping to reserve and plan everything. Elena, Avirie, and Kristiana took care of us and they were so great. They handled our large group with lots of drinks flawlessly. All of the food that came out was executed perfectly. Everyone really enjoyed all of the drinks and food. They have a full bar but their drink menu is so cool; lots of creative and delicious drinks. They even said they would store the cake and cupcakes for us until we were ready for dessert.
Yes it's a sports bar, but it's very clean, well run, the team was on top of anything and everything and so nice, the food was not greasy at all, and what a great value everything is. We will definitely be back!
