If I had to redo my entire wedding experience, I would choose The Barker House every. single. time. The venue is absolutely magical and somehow becomes even more breathtaking at night. Its charm and character create a sense of peace and warmth you wouldn’t expect, and it truly feels special the moment you step inside. There are fireplaces in nearly every room, and the cocktail hour spaces features exposed mahogany beams with historical photos lining the walls. Its absolutely stunning. The Barker House provides so much that ends up saving you a ton of money. To name a few- cake cutters, easels, table numbers and holders, candles… the list goes on. Because we were traveling about an hour and a half, this made planning incredibly easy and saved us from multiple trips and extra expenses. I also can’t say enough about how transparent they are with pricing. Their packages clearly spell out everything, and the fact that almost all vendors are included (minus the photographer) is seriously underrated. Their organization is UNMATCHED. When we booked, they gave us a binder with a detailed planning countdown (one year out, ten months out, etc), which made wedding planning so easy. I truly did not stress for a single moment. Being able to fully enjoy such a meaningful time in your life without stress is an incredible gift. We had a winter wedding with an indoor ceremony, and it was beyond perfect. The fireplace was lit, creating the coziest atmosphere. What I didn’t realize until experiencing it was how dramatic and magical an indoor entrance could be… both doors opened right as the music built, and the moment felt straight out of a movie. Guests told me they had goosebumps, were crying (people that claim to never cry at weddings), and felt like they were watching a fairytale unfold. I truly felt like a princess in a movie, it’s a moment you dream about your whole life, so for it to exceed expectations is UNREAL. The Barker House made that dream come true. Our guests are telling us it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to. The Barker House has absolutely mastered the formula for a seamless, magical day for both guests and the wedding party. I need to give a huge shoutout to Davis-Lynn, our wedding coordinator. She was kind, caring, and incredibly capable. Multiple bridesmaids told me after the rehearsal that they would “trust Davis-Lynn with their lives,” and I couldn’t agree more. More importantly, my friends and family were able to sit back and be present at the wedding because she had it under control in every aspect. I felt so taken care of and so so so special. I can’t stop replaying the day in my head because everything went so perfectly. It was truly the BEST DAY of my entire life.

Photographing a wedding at Barker House was such a meaningful experience. This venue blends historic New England character with elegant reception spaces and beautiful light. The large windows in the Williams Room and the thoughtfully designed garden courtyard offer so much variety for portraits and candid moments. Even on a windy day when we needed to move the ceremony indoors, the space still felt natural and inviting.

What truly stood out to us was how seamlessly the team handled that shift. Their communication was clear and calm, and they made the couple feel completely supported and at ease through the transition. That kind of coordination, from timeline management to thoughtful attention with guests and vendors alike, makes a noticeable difference in how smoothly the day unfolds.

Barker House’s combination of historic charm, harbor views, and a team that genuinely shows up for couples makes it a wonderful choice for those who want a wedding day that feels both memorable and relaxed.

We just got married here this past New Year’s Eve and it was amazing!! The entire planning process was extremely easy and the whole team was so accommodating to any requests we had. Lily was so easy and fun to work with and I’m so happy we had her as our planner!! She made sure the day was seamless. We would recommend this venue to anyone!

We photographed a wedding this past weekend at the Barker House and it was perfect! The couple chose to have their ceremony off-site but very close by at the local Catholic church. Everything from the staff, to the food, to the entire space was so great! We absolutely enjoyed working here!

I couldn't imagine a better place to get married and a better team to help me get married. The Wedgewood wedding team at Barker House was absolutely phenomenal. Davis-Lynn was literally me and my husband's hero and everyone else was just as incredible. I had a whole idea of how I thought my wedding would look and they made it ten million times more beautiful and smoother than I could've ever imagined. I cannot stress enough how much I wouldn't have changed a single thing from venue to people to wedding coordinator. This place literally does it all and my husband and I will look back on this day with only the fondest memories because of how incredible this venue and the people were.

We had the BEST day ever and so did our guests. Everyone keeps coming up to us saying how beautiful the day and venue was and how good the food was. The different spaces from the outdoor ceremony, the getting ready suites, cocktail hour, and recepecion all had such amazing charm and beauty.

All that said, the planning team and especially our day of coordinator Lily was soooooo amazing. She was so helpful leading up to the event and absolutely killed it the day of. We have some unruly guests and some last minute curves but she ran with it and made our day sooo easy the moment we got there. It was also beyond helpful that the day after the wedding they had everything all boxed up and ready for us to grab. WE HAVE NO NOTES ON THIS PLACE, GET MARRIED HERE OR YOU'RE MISSING OUT.

Amazing wedding. Dog shot bartenders, if you’ve ever had a drink it will taste watered down and weak here. The most sober I’ve ever been at a wedding I’ve traveled for after asking for many drink

From our first appointment to tour the venue we felt so comfortable and welcome. As soon as we walked in, we fell in love with the feel of the original building and then walked down the hall, and it was a completely different vibe...still beautiful, but light and airy, perfect for the reception. Every question we had was answered in a smart, friendly manner and we never felt rushed. The entire planning team was amazing...they were very responsive (usually answered emails within a few hours to a day), were able to handle the few unusual requests I had for the day of (wanted fake Christmas trees at our October wedding, lol) and helped us make every decision super easy. I can't say enough great things about Mandy, our day of coordinator, she made everything feel so effortless and easy on the wedding day. Even when my MOH was having trouble with my bustle she pitched in to help. Everyone couldn't stop talking about the food, the options felt unlimited, everything was delicious (especially the panko crusted chicken, my favorite!!) and they were so good about accommodating the allergies of a few of our guests. Having our wedding at the Barker House was the best experience and I will be recommending them to everyone I know

Our experience at Barker House was absolutely incredible! The staff was amazing — so friendly, welcoming, and always quick to answer any questions we had. Every single person we encountered went above and beyond to make us feel cared for. The venue itself is gorgeous (we may be a little biased because we love this area!) and the food was out of this world. We were dreaming about it after our tasting, and so many of our guests told us how much they loved the food at the wedding.

The all-inclusive package made planning so much easier, especially with the cake/desserts and florist included — both vendors know the venue so well, which made everything seamless. We did choose to use our own DJ, photographer, and officiant (also offered in the package), but honestly the value of the package couldn’t be beat.

We couldn’t be happier with our decision to celebrate here, and we’d recommend Barker House to any couple looking for the perfect wedding day experience! We wish we could celebrate here every weekend.

BEST DAY EVER!! I got engaged at the Scituate lighthouse last year on 09/14/25 & from there we started wedding planning. I'm originally from South Boston so we knew we wanted to get married in Boston and have the reception in Scituate. We did a tour at the Barker House and fell in love with the place (formally use to be Barker Tavern) we locked in a date right away and that got the ball rolling. Lily & the team at Barker made the process so easy & a lot of vendors were included too! We decided to use there DJ (Toast to the Entertainment) & DJ DOM killed it!! After almost a year of planning, phone calls, in person meetings the day came and it was everything we ever imagined. We had our ceremony at Gate of Heaven church & then the trolley brought us back to the Barker for reception. We were greeted by our wedding coordinator Lily & our food captain Chelsi ! they had our signature drinks ready for us and the night was started. Now to the food!!! everyone raved how good the appetizers were and the dinner. Chelsi had 2 plates of food and salad ready for us so we didn't have to wait in line and that made it easier to eat & greet guests after. Both Lily, Chelsi, DJ DOM & everyone at the Barker exceeded our expectations. If you are looking for a venue for your wedding look no further and book here. So much is included to take stress off of you. We can't wait to get our photos back from photograph to post them everywhere.THANK YOU BARKER HOUSE.
