I had high hopes and the charm is there but the customer service is simply not. They check in via text and can answer simple questions but when no heat was on in my room and I needed help I was told via text “Sure! one sec” thinking someone would come by soon. After waiting 30 minutes I looked around the room and found a second space heater. I plugged it in and blew a fuse. I let them know that via text and was told “I'll send somebody”. No one showed up all night. The next I got a text asking if I still needed help. I felt upset and misled, wasting at least an hour of my short trip waiting for help that was promised and never showed. The price was too high for this low level of service.

First time guest. Had the most charming stay at Race Brook Lodge. I arrived in the evening and followed a path down to where I was staying: a sweet, charming, rustic cottage room. The bed was enormous and inviting, there was a nook off of the room with an additional sleeper. No tv, just the sounds of the evening outside. It was a little chilly and they had heaters ready for use. The bed was very comfortable and I had a great sleep.
In the morning, I followed another path to the dining area where I was greeted by the staff, who were super-friendly and warm. Overnight guests were greeted by the staff like they were family (they seemed to be regular guests) and the breakfast was delicious. I took a quick dip in the pool and used the sauna, then went for a hike. It was the perfect getaway from my stress. Would come back here again 100%.

If by eclectic and rustic you like dilapidated and dirty, this is your place. The text said to see ourselves to our cottage and the key was inside. However most of the cottages/rooms weren’t numbered. There were no signs… we had no reception to call. After roaming around we found a man and asked if he knew where 22 was. He lead us one way, then another, before remembering 22 was back the first direction. We got to an unmarked cabin and went in. A key labeled 22 was on the table. The room smelled musty. The room was not like the pictures. The furniture was very old, threadbare, saggy. There were cobwebs. Maybe they cleaned after the last people left but not since? I’m not sure. There was a small door that wouldn’t shut all the way but had a single nail in the top holding shut. From the outside it seemed like this lead to a fenced in area that we couldn’t see in. It was creepy.

So charming and full of character. We had a wonderful time with our children and extended family. Food was excellent and loved the location. Very relaxing and scenic. Tap water was incredible! Ice cold and tasty. Really neat to drink mountain spring water right in our room! I made sure I filled up our water bottles before we left.

This place is terrific It s family run and feels very homespun They have great food and events - lots of top notch musicians They even offer access to their pool through the pool club The restaurant is really cool- it has lots of private nooks and intimate spaces My husband and I recently spent an evening there eating burgers and playing scrabble and having one of their original cocktails

This trip was for our extended family including 10 people ages 18-??.
This house is located about 1/2 mile up a windy road above the race brook lodge's main facilities.
Everyone loved the secluded location with beautiful views of the mountains out of main living area and 2nd floor.
There were so many places for all of us to hang out together and/or get some private time.
The house is so purposely decorated with such a personal touch.
The kids took a hike right from the house. We drove down to the main lodge and used the pool for a great time.
The management is so responsive via text at any time needed.

Just spent a very enjoyable evening at Race Brook Lodge. The dinner was delicious, and the brunch was great. The staff were very friendly and the space was really gorgeous and unique. Maybe the oldest building I’ve ever slept in! Kept expecting George Washington to walk around the corner. You should definitely visit if you are into great food and authentic New England charm. I can’t wait to come back and see more of the property.

The most unique, warm and welcoming Inn in the northeast. Keep an eye on their events calendar, they are fire. Excellent restaurant in the most rustic and cozy space with a wood fire burning on cold nights. Hiking trails right off the property.

The Race Brook is magical. The rooms are comfortable, the food is great, and the grounds are beautiful. We stayed for the weekend for a nearby wedding with our two little kids, and they had so much fun playing on the swings and in the playhouse. I hope to return soon.

We had our wedding here, and it was absolutely magical! The venue can fit so many people, which makes it a great option if you want to have all your guests stay in the same place as wedding activities. There are so many beautiful green spaces throughout, as well as charming buildings with lots of hidden nooks and crannies. The venue lit up at night is equally beautiful. Highly recommend!!
