We went there to dine with family as a halfway place for all of us. They seated us right away and the service was quick. I honestly can't remember what we all ordered but I remember everyone was happy with what they ordered. I would go back there.

Met family here for a "Girls" Lunch. Menu was so interesting and varied. Food was outstanding (and I'm picky). Had the Kale and Quinoa Salad. Amazing flavors and all ingredients were so fresh. We each had something different. It was a Trifecta!!

There were 7 of us and the wait service was okay. But, 3 of us had the fish and chips, the haddock was dry, not moist. Maybe the fish sat too long in the fryolator. It was very disappointing. Another guest had steak tips and that was tough. Another had a salad with something and one ingredient was missing with another that was sparce. This was a first visit for 5 of us and you didn't make any points. Overall, it was a rather poor meal. Too bad... Might give it one more try!

The service was horrendous ! The food arrived before our beverages . The server seemed to have no idea how to perform minimal tasks.

Guy needs firing for taking ID from girl. AVOID. Absolutely disgusting that a man would do this to a young girl and for what?

We ordered the short rib quesedillas and the pork ribs...ribs were so fatty and not quality ..never again. Our waitress was friendly but the food was not up to par.

Moved and was looking for someplace new for lunch. My friend's chicken salad sandwich on a GF bun and my cornflake fried chicken breast sandwich on a croissant roll were delicious. Making lunch even more special were their homemade chips. I couldn't eat all of them and when I brought them home, my husband thought they were the best he's ever eaten. My only complaints were that the restaurant was way too cold, so if you go, be sure to bring a jacket. Luckily, my friend had two polartecs in the trunk so we stayed. Also, coffee and tea refills were not free. We probably missed seeing that on the menu. Shout out to our server, Veronica. She's only been working there two weeks; however, she was wonderful; attentive, friendly, got our orders correct despite allergies, etc. We really enjoyed meeting her and I will definitely ask for her the next time we visit this restaurant!

Tavern lost a star because of their incompetent hostess. I understand it’s COVID and that the restrictions are more rigid, but the hostess did not confirm my phone number and kept us waiting outside for twice as long as we were supposed to because she didn’t write down my number correctly. When we came in, we still had to wait and there was no apology. That said, When we finally did sit down, the waitress was pleasant. I had the Cesar salad and my daughter had the quinoa bowl. Both dishes were very good The restaurant is following all the COVID mandates to the letter and felt very safe eating there. I recommend the strawberry lemonade. However based on our initial experience this time I don’t think we’ll be back here until the pandemic is over If at all. We rarely go out and this was supposed to be a treat for my day. Completely ruined what was supposed to be a fun COVID break.

Tavern in the Square is a chain of 10 restaurant-pubs across Central to Eastern Massachusetts. We stopped in for an early evening meal (5pm on a Tuesday) for a family get-together of 4. It was not crowded at 5pm, but when we left at 7pm, the place was full. My sister lived in the condos around it for a while until she moved to NC a few months ago, so this was a regular place for her and her husband. The Tavern is located in a area abutting condo complexes, and a section of Rt. 9 that is heavily built with shops and stores. Ample parking in two areas to be had. Its close by to shops on the Avenue such as Trader Joes, Total Wine, and a ton of smaller shops. Booths are wooden bench "step ups" and comfortable. Not great, but does the job. There is a sizable bar area, but with the state Covid restrictions, most used is the tables, now with plexiglass-glass between the booths. Service for us was very good, efficient and pleasant. Beer selection is very good (well beyond the norm) with decent prices too. I know of some spots that will overprice a glass of anything by an extra 2 or so bucks, but with the variety of a good bunch of regional craft beers they have, a glass of Guinness at $8 is fine by me. One is my limit, anyway. We all had different meals, Blackened bacon and Blu-Cheese burger, turkey burger, mac n' cheese and fish and chips. The nachos starters were very good, fresh made, drizzled with a nice amount melty cheese and veggies like onions, scallions, tomatoes and hot peppers. For me, I could make a meal of those easy. Only drawback on the burger was I think it could use some spicier cajon; it was a little on the mild side....but I know their stop-in traffic may not be of that persuasion. Decent portions, as my wife and I had about a 1/4 leftover of our burgers to take home, and my sister had a portion of mac n' cheese leftover too. May be unhealthy as heck, but I liked their salted french fries. Its an open concept, big widows, high "industrial" ceiling, and is typical of pub and grilles of this sort. You like it or you don't. Clean bathroom, and with the lockdown, everyone seemed to take in stride and do the best they can. For me and my wife, with the appetizer, 2 burgers, beer and tip, it came to $68.00. Ok in my book. One item of note, if you're a first-time visitor here, there are so many shops, businesses and small side streets in the stretch of Rt. 9, any sort of signage to help suffers greatly, and as this is setback "around" other buildings, it can be hard to find at first, even being just 150 feet off the main drag. Google map it first for an overview, or GPS to make sure you navigate around, especially if at rush hour in central Mass (take an aspirin, too) I'd go back again.

So the rage nowadays is to have a restaurant with slightly pricier upscale food, and a bar with a bunch of sports on TV and dozens of taps. Tavern In The Square fits this bill nicely. First-time visitor today with a friend, we found plenty of tap selections with a lot of it local (although I would've preferred a few more dark beer options). He got a chicken quesadilla that looked small at first, but then I realized it was a good deal thicker than your typical quesadilla; he seemed pleased with it. I got the truffle tots, bang bang broccoli, and crab rangoon; the truffle tots were tasty and well executed and numerous, the broccoli was tasty and the sauce was good (although I would've appreciated more sauce), and the crab rangoon were a step above corner Chinese (and benefited from a well done dipping sauce). The prices were reasonable, and the food was better than I expected. I live close to their Rhode Island branch so I'll definitely be checking it out.

Great looking restaurant, arrived before the crush so we're seated immediatly!! Fried pickles, cold beer!! Good start. I had the deluxe tavern burger, cooked to order with tots, was very good. Daughter, the birthday girl and her husband are regulars, so burger and gen tsao's chicken. My wife the steak salad. No room for dessert. Service was casual but professional. Overall very good experience.
