Tavern in the Square Shrewsbury

Atmosphere is very busy and loud, but good food makes up for it! I might suggest steering away from the nachos if you like meat in yours, or requesting extra meat as it is quite sparse. The Korean Gochujang chicken sandwich was absolutely incredible! Crispy, bursting with flavor, and absolutely huge. The rosemary fries pair very well with it.

I’ve been to the Shrewsbury location several times. Unfortunately the salads get smaller & smaller over time but the prices increase. We always get the cookie skillet because it’s to die for! They switched it up recently & made a salted caramel version, which is still very good, but the graham cracker bottom is TOO hard. Should go back to the original cookie recipe. Love the idea of the caramel on the side!

Service and atmosphere was great. But I spent $30 on the sirloin steak tips with Mash. And I GOT 3 STEAK TIPS. 3!!? Three. Unreal. Might probably never go again after that. $30 for 3 sirloin Tips. I’ll just go to Quinns in Worcester again for a better value. For HALF the price and TWICE as more. Do better Tavern.

The apps were good but the meals weren't great. Service was good and the staff was very friendly. Steak tips were overcooked (they took it off the bill) fish and chips was a small piece of fish. I've had better fish from the frozen food section of Walmart.

Our waitress Nicole M was very disappointing, my boyfriend and I go to tavern all the time in other cities and have excellent service but this time was not that. She came to our table three times in the first 30 minutes of us being there and then only attended to her other tables after that. We asked another waitress for drinks after waiting a while for Nicole to come back, she said she couldn’t and our waitress would have to take the order. She then still took a while to come back, so we decided to just get the check and go. Very unfortunate!

For what’s supposed to be a “nice place” that’s “allergen friendly”, there’s a completely new staff everytime I got, so how well can it be run and now well can a constantly changing kitchen staff be adhering to allergen awareness?

This was my first time at this restaurant/tavern. First and most the whole staff were amazing! The manager named Maddie went far and beyond for me. The food was delicious and I will be definitely going back. . Great job!!!

I’ve tried this chain in other locations and I must tell you the experience was much better than this place.

Sat at the bar. A couple of other patrons arrived after me. Male bartender took their orders first. He finally came to me and took my initial order.

A female bartender arrived and they began to talk amongst themselves right in front of me.

After checking out the menu I had made up my mind put the menu down.

They completed their conversation and walked away from me. I had to say outloud that I was ready to place my order.

Not the type of attention I expected from this place or anywhere else.

Finished my meal and left.

There are plenty of other eateries in the area and will not be coming back to this location again.

I enjoy eating at this restaurant. Waitress very informative and friendly, food is delicious. My favorite is bayou chicken

We were pleased with our experience. They were busy, but everyone was pleasant. We had one issue with food delivery, but our server Jaime was amazing. Apologies and corrected. Jamie went above and beyond. Thank you.
