First time coming here and it will not be my last! This clean cozy cafe has everything you need for a nice brunch! Service was efficient and amazing! I ordered the meat lovers omelet and the waitress recommended the grilled mashed potatoes and THEY WERE OUTSTANDING!! I am now hooked. Their hot chocolate was tasty too! I enjoyed everything on my plate! I will be back!

Found hair in food. Was charged for bacon they did not add onto the omellet. When ordering through their site, they direct you to UberEats. When I called back, I was told to contact UberEats (a common, strategic recourse that should be lawfully reviewed) but that wasn't the issue. The issue was that there seemed to be no concern for either of these issues on their end. I would suggest you go to SoundBites. They are a little more busier but friendlier and more ethical, so I guess we can see why that is. Moved back into the area and planned to frequent again but never going back!

Really good service!!! No wait, both times I've been, however, I've seen people waiting outside for a table. Yummy food! The Moroccan eggs were fantastic! The omelets are good, so are the eggs and steak tips!!

Every time I pass by this place I always remember our experience with the manager (owner?) and why we haven’t come back since.
We were a group of 6 going to brunch on Sunday. As expected there was a line, but it was moving quick. 2 of our friends were running late, and the manager/owner reminded us that he can only seat a party with everyone here (which is totally fair and not uncommon). He kept telling us to respect his policy, so 4 of us decided to grab a table for ourselves and have our 2 friends meet us later since they were going to take longer than expected. Figured that was a good decision that satisfied everybody.
Service was quick and the food was well worth the hype. I got the hash and the eggs, and they were delicious. It was our server’s first day but he was super attentive and friendly.
1 friend dropped by to say hi, and the server immediately grabbed a seat for her. She initially refused, saying she’ll see us later, but the server insisted. She proceeded to sit down and as soon as she sat the manager comes back to berate our table for being “disrespectful”. My boyfriend was trying to defuse and explain the situation but the man kept talking over him, telling us how awful customers we were. He kept going on about how we disrespected and insulted him. We didn’t want to pin the blame on the server, so we just kept quiet and paid for our meals. The server apologized profusely for what happened. We ended up going to the restaurant next door to meet our friends and had a far more pleasant time.
The whole experience ruined this place for us, even for my friends who were regulars and had been raving about this place for the longest time. They never had this happen to them before. I hope that server is doing well because we all felt bad for giving him a rough first day.

Ball Square Cafe is a fantastic breakfast spot in the Somerville area. Overall, it offers a great dining experience. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. While the prices are on the higher side for breakfast, I believe it’s worth it for the quality. I highly recommend checking it out!

This place is the best!! We lived in the area from 2012 to 2016 and was our go to spot! The owner was always super friendly. Everytime we come to Boston, we go out of our way to get Breakfast here. The Banana Nutella french toast is awesome
The food is mostly good, though not consistent. The background music is annoying bland smooth jazz that you are not meant to listen to. It just annoys me.

update: still amazing, and its bigger now but they took my favorite item off the menu. bring back the banana n cream cheese stuffed french toast. i cry for it every night. the grilled mash eases my sadness tho.
