The outdoor patio is great with trees that haven't bloomed giving a cold March weekend some warmth. The food was ok with the only gluten free bread being a wrap, that I can't really recommend. The service was fast and friendly. I ordered the turkey wrap and sat in the warm sun, all in all a good experience. I'd be more definitive next time with ordering.

I got a mocha iced latte and some avocado toast! Delicious! Best coffee in town bar none! Marylou's has nothing on this establishment!

I visited this morning and had an unpleasant experience with KELLY. I felt unwelcome and received poor service while purchasing my breakfast. It's essential for staff to exhibit a positive attitude and a willingness to provide good service. Unfortunately, my experience did not meet these standards.

Bloc is a very cute coffee shop in Somerville near Bow market. It's very cool inside and is located in an old bank so it has a great ambiance. Despite it being huge inside for a Boston coffee shop, I find they don't usually have enough seating and at times it's really hard to find a seat. I wish they just had a few more tables! The coffee is really good and they have a pretty large selection of food and smoothies as well - so lots of options. Definitely a good place to go get some work done if you can find a seat!

Bloc is a Somerville staple, and has earned this title. I've had a range of their coffees, and they're always stellar. The baked goods are a consistent selection of the Forge offerings (alongside Diesel), and I've grown to appreciate a pumpkin loaf, pain au chocolat, or my personal favorite - the sticky bun. Bloc is unique in its expansive space, a former bank, where you can certainly park yourself with a laptop or good book, finding a small nook to yourself. The staff always seem to be in a cheery mood and generous with their time and resources. A true neighborhood favorite, this one!

I feel very lucky to live near such a cozy coffee shop! Bloc is unique because it used to be a bank back in the day. You can even sit in a few areas that used to be vault rooms. The coffee is always wonderful and the staff are kind. They also have smoothies and seasonal drinks like cider if you aren’t a coffee lover. Their patio space is by far one of the best in Somerville.

Can't speak to the food, but the coffee is very good! I don't come often so I always love to try the rotating seasonal drinks. Bloc puts a lot of care into presentation and the vibe. It's in the basement of an old bank building and they've decorated it very well. There's generally plenty of seating and it's not too loud, so I've used it as a first date spot a couple of times.

Its a decent place to get a strong cup of coffee. it is a bit pricey, outside of the coffee, but as a coffee drinker - their coffee is good and strong. If you can make it on a weekday mid day, you can find a space to sit. During the summer, their patio is ideal. All other times the tables fill up quickly, so plan accordingly. Still worth it for a solid cup in the ville.

Awesome coffee shop that was an old bank. Great coffee and awesome vibes. You can actually sit inside the old vault. Definitely worth a visit. Ample parking

That was 15 dollars for tofu on sourdough. I've said it before and I'll say it again, if nothing had to die for my sandwich, it shouldn't be more than $10. Let me give credit where it's due - Bloc has some dynamite bread. It's the kind of bread that makes me able to look French people in the face when they say something like "oui oui le American bread is awful". Well, have you tried Bloc? No? Then au revoir or whatever it is. But in defense of France (this is rare for me), you get a baguette there and it's one Franc or Euro whatever they use now. Anything on bread in Bloc is minimum $9. Bloc is nice - don't get me wrong, but sometimes I wonder if it's some kind of social experiment to see how high they can put the prices and still have people show up.

Food and beverages: I enjoy Bloc's sandwiches and coffees! I usually grab a breakfast sandwich from here, but they have plenty of options. The bread is always so fresh (I love the sourdough and focaccia). They also have vegan menu options available. Atmosphere: there is both indoor and outdoor seating. When you walk inside, you can order at the register or on a touch screen. The inside is bright at the front, but a bit dark towards the back given the lack of windows. I've worked out of the cafe a few times, they have WiFi if you need it. The seats outside are great for warmer days, but not all have umbrellas to provide shade from the sun.

I visit from Southern California twice a year and have always gone to this coffee shop when I’m in town since they opened years ago, however today I ordered a dirty chai in a 16oz cup, they served it in a ceramic mug and when I asked for a to go cup to poor it into (I had not drank out of it yet) it filled the cup up 3/4 of the way. For a drink that costs close to $7 my expectation is I get what I pay for. I ordered a chocolate croissant, which I usually love from here, today they were burnt and not that great. I also ordered a berry smoothy and it was more like flavored water, not very smoothie like. The sticky roll with frosting was just ok as well. I was not very happy with spending $30+ on some breakfast items that were not worth the money. My sister lives in the neighborhood and said she has given up on this coffee shop as well because her to go drinks are always 3/4 full. Super bummed, I used to love this place.
