The food is overpriced and under cooked. I come from Austria and know something about wienerschnitzel. The veal needs to be thin and tender, and here it was neither. I also know something about Spaetzle. The pieces should be small, no more than 1.5" and not sticky with cheese. The best way to serve Spaetzle is with small pieces of veal in a light sauce. The Swiss call it "geschnetzeltes" That is, unfortunately not on the menu. And the cucumber salad, "gurkensalat", should be made with sour cream and small chunks of onion. It was served with a vinegar dressing...and that may be OK, but it's not the best. The chef should go back to school. The beer, Pilsener, was good. Service was nice and pleasant. Ambiance was faux Bavarian, but OK.

Great athmosphere, great food, great service. That whole “you must be out of here after 120min max” rule that is printed everywhere online and menu, seems a bit outdated and hostile, but everything else is great.

Had a delicious citrus-y fizzy cocktail to start. Dinner was Schnitzel, with mushroom sauce, warm potato salad....very generous servings, cooked to perfection. Finished with a dark beer. Everything was just perfect. Love the comfortable homey atmosphere and our server was great.

Came here for brunch with a couple adults and a baby. I had made reservations ahead of time for a Sunday morning at 11am (right when they open). They were very accommodating and gave us a seat that would accommodate the bassinet. The menu is unique with lots of German classics, including their cocktail menu. The service was fast and attentive. Everything we ordered tasted great and they were able to accommodate menu changes due to food restrictions. Definitely will be back.

This was the worst German food I have ever had. The horsersdish was gross way too strong. The pancakes were soggy not crispy. The cabbage was not German style. I stayed in Germany for a long time, this is not German food.

Extremely average German food here, if you can call it that, don't waste your time. Good service and ambiance,

Overall the food is good. But it's our first time there, we ordered too much food, also they are ALL pork based! I thought the server should remind us at least. Favorite is the beef

We had a fabulous birthday dinner here! There were some problems with the reservation but the staff was very accommodating. They brought us free pretzels for our troubles and even a complimentary shot of snaps for my birthday! We had a great time!

The food was ok not great, the portions and taste not worth the price. For the table we got the "shareable" pretzel which was the size of those frozen pretzels and the taste nothing to rave about. We ordered the LANGOS and received the URNEBES. Once I got the waitresses attention and told her we were brought the wrong item, she said I ordered the wrong item? For entrees we ordered the BRONBURGER, SCHNITZEL and SAUERBRATEN. The burger was well done and meat over peppered, the Schnitzel however was nothing to reave about as the sauce sounded delicious and there was a small spoonful on it, the Sauerbraten was a small slice of brisket with soaked red cabbage filling the plate. The potatoes that came with the Bronburger were delicious as well as the cucumber salad. Not sure if it was the great chef's night off, or if the awards posted on the site must be outdated. This is not a place we will be returning to based on food=value

Overall, it was very good. I degraded the rating for a couple of things. The style was unlike anything we have ever had in Europe, so it is hard to adjust to. The service is much like European style, very hands off. That kinda goes with the German restaurant style, but it was also a little annoying trying to get attention. First, the potato pancakes. The flavor was good, and they were done well. The sauce on top was almost like a horseradish, and then there was apple sauce on the side. Was not a big fan of sauce, and never taisted something like that before. The two flavors didn't combine well. The schnitzel was incredible. Very original. The sauce was a little weak and not enough. It was over potato salad, which was warm. The flavor of the salad was very different and, again, warm, unusual. The spatzle was very different. Large long clumps. There was also spinach in it, slightly overcooked. The flavor was good, but the size and spinach really threw us off. The food was very well cooked and everything did taste good. It is definitely worth going to, but be aware it is a little different than the traditional German food we were used to. We did live in Germany for 8 years. The place was clean. The staff were friendly. The place is crowded and they have a center table that is pretty European. Basically one long table that everyone sits at, not really separated, so be prepared for that. I would still go back, just keep my mind more open.

Came to Bronwyn for a friend's birthday dinner. The only reason for 3/5 is because of the food - the service and atmosphere were impeccable! We had a reservation but were a large group (12), so there did end up being a wait. Once we got situated, our server brought out pretzels for the table on the house - I'd definitely recommend the beer cheese that it comes with (also because I'm not a huge mustard fan), and honestly it was the highlight of the meal! As someone who has spent time in Vienna and Berlin, the food unfortunately didn't meet expectations. I was super excited and ended up being disappointed. The schnitzel was nicely breaded, thin, and fried, but could use more flavor (as well as the mushroom sauce), and I did not end up finishing it. My partner had the wurst trio, which was not bad but was accompanied by pretty dry potatoes. I ate a lot of the sauerkraut off his plate though, I will say! Overall, for the price I'm paying ($29 and $30 for main dishes) and the mandatory 20% tip I would expect something more authentic - this leaned more German-esque than German. However, this could be a great place if you're not looking for a full meal experience and rather bar food with drinks. It is super cozy and the service was attentive, quick, and great. I would say adjust your expectations accordingly for the food.
