“Had the best chicharrón of my life here months ago. As soon as I spotted them glistening on display, I knew I had to order. Crispy skin, juicy meat, perfectly seasoned. The pork fat was rendered just enough so the remaining fat had a firmer, almost meaty bite instead of melting away. It was one of those rare, stop-you-in-your-tracks moments.

Unfortunately, when I came back a few months later, they were just… ordinary. No more juiciness, just dry chunks sitting out on display. Maybe it’s a timing thing—you probably have to show up early morning to catch Colombian chicharrón at its best. The rest of that plate (sausage, rice, beans) was fine, though the beef was on the tough, dry side.

On my most recent visit, I tried the beef empanada and carne asada. The empanada was decent, but clearly not fried to order—still edible, but not something I’d go out of my way for. The carne asada, however, was one of the best I’ve had in the area: thick cut, fat cap rendered just enough to bring flavor without grease, and seasoned spot-on. My only gripe was the side—fries instead of rice, which pushed the whole plate into salty-overload territory. Fries were great, but rice would’ve balanced it better.“

“This is a “spanish” bar first and foremost. They have small tables if you want to sit and have something to eat. The interior needs a big time refresh but don't judge the place by it's appearance. The beer is cold and very affordable. The food is GREAT!! If you like typical Colombian food - this place is a home run!! “Staff were super friendly. I sat down and read the menu. I didn't realize that they had may food items at the counter that are not on the menu that look amazing. I ended up ordering the Cazuela De Frijoles. OMG it was so much food. I was stuffed after getting halfway through it. The chorizo was absolutely delicious and the arepa was perfect. I found the dish overall to be a little bland. I think it could have used a couple of squeezes of lime and bump up the spices in the broth a bit more. I was not a fan of the potato sticks. I also wish the egg yolk had been runny instead of firm. While I was eating I noticed the digital board advertising that they have a BUFFET every weekday! This is the first time I have heard of a buffet in a Latin restaurant. I did enjoy my meal and I will definitely be back to try other items.“
