Delishhhhh Mexican food. The inside was nice, and the furniture was made in Mexico. The salsa was good and spicy and the guacamole was standard. The nachos were probably the last nachos I've ever had they each had beans, cheese and chicken on them and a hefty amount and chip was still standing strong which is always a positive sign. The enchiladas tejanas was my favorite dish of the day. It was cheesy and delicious. The churros also had the good Dulce delicious inside of them and were crispy. Joe walked us through the menu and you can tell he's very passionate which is always awesome and our server was very sweet and attentive.

Amazing! My second visit here and I am not disappointed. Tried the carnitas chimichanga as well as shredded chicken carnitas and the shrimp enchiladas. OH. MY. GOD. So good! Also, for cinnamon lovers, their flan is like a gift from heaven! I don't even believe in heaven, but trust me - it's a gift from heaven! Friendly staff and pretty good drinks too. The prices were super reasonable, and there is no bs here as far as flavor is concerned. I highly recommend.

The steak was delicious very soft and tasty! Rice and beans was good but not excellent the only thing that make me don’t want to come back to eat at this restaurant is because I left there hungry! The portion of rice and beans are extremely small, don’t give me wrong the plate looks big but the way the chef spread the food on the plate on a thin layer looks good when arrived to the table but makes you mad when you start eating because you know it very little food on your plate cost $21,00 dollars for a carne assada! Rice and beans are cheap and the restaurant uses a cheap rice not basmati or jasmine! I’m a big guy my expectations are big when I go to eat out and I choose a Latin American restaurant and could be Mexican, Peruvian, Brazilian or Colombian I’m use to have tasty food and a good portions! Very rarely I will walk out of restaurant hungry! It happened once in 2000 at legal seafood and took me 20 years to go back to legal seafood again! This el potro restaurant in Union square Somerville can do better than that! Please makes your portion of rice and beans bigger!

The prices are way to high for what they offer,Yest for a burrito 21 Dollars and takes them like 15 minutes. Not going to this place again

My absolute favorite Mexican restaurant in Massachusetts!!! It comes so close to the Mexican food I love in the south and the ambience is celebration-worthy. They are super quick with service and everyone is super nice. The drinks have gotten better. I recommend the top margarita!

The worst food I've had in the greater Boston area. Everything was unseasoned: the guac ($10 for a small cup), the chicken, the rice, the queso, the chips. The "queso" was so liquidy that it resembled the taste and texture of skim milk. The burrito was served in a "deconstructed" manner with the rice, beans, and meat on the inside, and dry melted cheese and sauce poured over, with lettuce, tomatoes, and avocado on the side. The flautas were SOGGY and undercooked! They resembled a small sad roll-up with no crunch and the chicken had no salt or seasoning. It was clear that the food had been laying out long after it was microwaved. We could not finish the plate as we felt ourselves getting nauseated as the meal progressed. There are some serious doubts regarding their food safety handling that should be addressed by the proper authorities. We left the restaurant $70 poorer (chips, guac, queso, burrito, flautas) and genuinely perplexed at how BAD every part of that meal was. Do NOT waste your time or money at this flavorless establishment. You could make better Mexican food at home.
