Mandatory 23% tip
Food was good, but not beyond that. We got a table next to the door and each time someone left or entered the restaurant you could feel a wave of cold air. One of people in our party was an older fellow, who was really sensitive to these cold waves and the restaurant staff did very little to accommodate him. Apart from that: it was pretty noisy, they didn’t even change the silverware between appetizers and main dishes (yes, any restaurant that is in the best 50 or so in a big city should do it!). Would not recommend and I think Boston Best 50 should really have some higher standards! People rely on these reviews… Disappointing… would not survive in other places…

Very cool industrial vibe with entrance from a parking lot with a green door.
The server said to order between 6 to 8 dishes which are all terrible.

Really enjoyed the wine and outdoor seating here. Would definitely come back for drinks and snacks but don't think we need a whole meal here. Small plates are good but nothing in particular that stood out to us. I will say the menu is seasonal and changing so there's always new options.

Can't believe I haven't been to Field and Vine sooner! What a great dining experience starting with just walking in the door! As a gardener myself, I just loved all the plants and florals and the vines above the bar! Incredibly welcoming! And the food was so well presented, fresh and delicious! The scallops crudo was fantastic with the pesto. The tuna carpaccio was so interesting with the beets as well. Charred cabbage is my new favorite appetizer, and the crunchy rice puffs were a fun addition. Recommend the swordfish with acorn squash. Duck was good but maybe a little overcooked. Chocolate espresso sorbet tasted like gelato, and you only need a few bites to be satisfied. Great, cozy date place.
Parking: Look for the parking garage nearby, with a very hidden door! Didn't know this until after we drove around for a while.

I visited Field & Vine with my girlfriend, and the food was truly outstanding. Among the dishes, the cabbage dish stood out as the most delicious. The overall menu had a fusion style, seamlessly blending exotic ingredients in a way that showcased the chef’s thoughtfulness and creativity. Every bite reflected careful craftsmanship.
The service was friendly and welcoming, adding to the pleasant dining experience. However, one disappointing aspect was the automatic inclusion of a 20% tip for the staff and an additional 3% kitchen fee on the bill. While I had every intention of tipping generously, being forced to do so without prior notice was frustrating. It was a sour note to end an otherwise wonderful meal, which was truly unfortunate.
Despite this, if you're looking for a place that serves well-crafted dishes with unique flavors, Field & Vine is still worth a visit.
I visited Field & Vine with my girlfriend, and the food was really great. Among them, the cabbage dish was the most impressive, and overall, the fusion-style dishes that harmoniously combined various exotic ingredients stood out. I could feel with every bite that the chef put a lot of thought and care into the dish.
The employees were friendly and the overall atmosphere was good. But there was one thing that was disappointing. When I looked at the bill, I saw that a 20% waiter tip and a 3% kitchen charge were automatically included. I originally planned to give a tip in a pleasant manner, but it was unpleasant to be forced to do so without prior notice. It was a pity that a meal that was supposed to end on a good note ended up disappointing in an unexpected way.
Nonetheless, if you want to enjoy carefully prepared dishes and unique flavors, Field & Vine is well worth a visit.

The food is good. Everything is fresh. For me, I enjoy many dishes and combinations, but didn’t feel everything went well together. Some dishes would have been best without certain things. Didn’t appreciate all the combos of each dish. Still enjoyed it.

Only rating based on the food since we didn’t drink but TLDR don’t understand the hype. Taste-wise everything was mediocre, off-balance, and not memorable. Portions sizes were tiny, while prices were high (even if before the 23% tip). Friendly waitress though.
We ordered the 5 dishes, 2 of which are meant to be “larger dishes”. One of these larger dishes was a tiny bowl of mushroom pozole with probably 5 hominy kernels. The cabbage dish was ok but perhaps using pointed cabbage would have made the flavours more balanced. The cornbread dish was perhaps the best with the carrots being the highlight of the night.
Considering the menu and the ingredients listed, I think they are trying to make use of too many fusion-esque concepts/ingredients here, without successfully mastering any.

Gorgeous restaurant and phenomenal food. Renny the chef even told us how to make the phenomenal squash dish. Sitting at the chef’s bar was great. Thank you!

I wonder why barely anyone mentioned their 3% kitchen admin fee AND a mandatory 20% tip/gratuity however they call it. Food is decent but mandatory tip is a no go for me.

We’ve been here several times for different occasions. The food is tasty and the atmosphere is very romantic. Some dishes outshine others.

The food was absolutely, delicious, especially the grilled cabbage and the cornbread. The wine list was full of interesting choices, and we really liked the bottle we ordered. The music is on a bit too loud for a nice restaurant, it's at more of a bar level. There are two hidden fees, a mandatory 20% gratuity, and a mandatory 3% kitchen appreciation fee. These fees should be built into the price of the food, not sneakily tacked on at the end of the meal.

I wanted to wait to write this review to make sure I wasn’t still on the high from the food, experience, and atmosphere of Field & Vine. Two weeks later and I’m still dreaming of the beef tartare, the cornbread, the monkfish…truly everything we ordered that night. My fiancé said it best when he said that Field & Vine made him sad because he couldn’t eat a meal that amazing every night. We have been to many restaurants around Boston and Field & Vine ranks as an easy top 5 on our list. and to top it all off…Sahil, our waiter, was a true gem of a human. He made us tear up hearing about how he loves being part of the little celebrations in people’s lives. He was caring, attentive, funny, and truly passionate about the food served here.
And yes, I am sad I don’t get to eat here every night.

The decoration and service are both excellent among all restaurants I visited for sure. Our server was quite attentive. The atmosphere was romantic. The cornbread and grilled cabbage were outstanding. While majority of the dishes were unique and fresh, they were not quite tasty to me. Overall, it is a fine dining that is worth a visit!
