I love the quality of the products but now Forge has made the croissants, chocolate croissants and ham and cheese croissants smaller without reducing prices. That is grapflation.
Their service is slow. At least when we were at the place, it was way too slow. While we were waiting for our sandwiches (over 30 minutes), our coffee got cold.
Staff shortage?

Food is great. The line can get quite long. And while you can order with a tablet on your own or with an app, you may still need to wait for your order to be ready. However everyone is very nice and courteous.
Parking: Many businesses in a limited space. Parking is hard to find

Solid food and drink, although a bit expensive. The location/ambiance is nice with paintings on the wall (on commission by a local artist) and a little window into the kitchen to see people rolling out fresh pastries.
I come here regularly on Saturday mornings and they get extremely backed up & discombobulated. This is understandable and would be totally fine, but the staff (who are doing their best to get orders out) don’t communicate at all with the growing backlog of customers who are blankly staring at their phones waiting for a simple latte or pastry. Forge’s sister restaurants, Bloc and Diesel, seem to manage this more effectively.
For management, I’d recommend looking into a better order management process. For customers, I’d recommend ordering ahead by a significant margin or bringing a book to read while you wait for your order.

Really great jalapeño cheddar bagels and cardamom buns. Their bread selection is also great for taking home
Forge is a paramount example of a top tier cafe & bakery.
Everything is made from scratch and incorporates fresh, artisanal ingredients. Although the bread and focaccia are delicately balanced and yummy, it’s the bagels for me that keep me coming back several times a month.
The environment is also unparalleled to most cafes in Boston as the space provides free WiFi, outlets, a large seating area, bathrooms, and even parking (Lol, fhis is a big deal for our local Bostonians)
I often see forge baked goods being offered at other smaller cafes, and I am not surprised as to why. Keep up the great work!

It has a spacious space, has its own peripheral products, and even works part-time as a gallery and Mingchu. The food looks healthy, fresh and reassuring. This place may have been a factory building before. I really like this feeling of spaciousness. But now it is still a factory, a food factory, and a talent incubator. Many students are scattered in the back half of the restaurant with computers.

This place really seems to be going for “third space” feel, and it’s working!
The hey have breakfast and lunch covered (their boiled bagels are a bit gummier than I like but very tasty, and they have a blueberry lemon spread that is delish, and likely even more so with cream cheese). They also have an ice cream bars Thursday-Sunday from 3-9.
Additionally, they have trivia nights and other events for the community!
The space is vast (it goes way back with tons of seating), and wifi is provided so it’s great for work or meet ups. The have a person to order from OR a machine (so quite efficient).
They also serve Intelligencia coffee and a tea that is MEM (no offense MEM, but you’re everywhere).
Lots of free parking too, and fully accessible.

Over a 15 min wait for a breakfast sandwich when it’s not busy and barely anyone in the cafe. Not really acceptable.

We ordered sandwiches for catering for a running event. Our contact was kind and easy to work with, and the sandwiches were delicious! The bread is amazing.
