I love the Foundry - However, I was very disappointed last night. It felt like I was hit with a lot of petty charges! I asked for bread to go with my dinner salad. I was offered pita or foccia. When the bill came there was a $2 charge for Pita and then a $3 upcharge for foccia. Ok, if they had told me but they didn't. Add to my bill agrevation, there was a 3% Kitchen fee added for the kitchen staff. It all felt really petty. And then when I asked the bartender about it (who had been great all night, until then) he got all pissy with me. I will have to think about eating there again. Great place for a drink though.

We ordered the chicken milanese and the steak frites, but were immediately eyeing the tomato soup and grilled cheese that the table next to us got. It looked like cheesy perfection, so we’ll definitely be back to try that. Overall a little pricey and the milanese was quite oily, but a lovely dinner spot nonetheless.

Slightly upscale, but cozy. Great food and service.

Upd: menu is taking a hit after the update. Pretty boring, like any other bar next door. 'Fine food' is not fine anymore.

Ordered a French Onion Soup online. Flavor was good (not great) but the portion size was laughable—$17 for essentially a cup. Really disappointing experience!

I visited this restaurant on Friday 12/6/24 for my cousin’s 18th birthday dinner. The service of the staff there was very good. The alcoholic drinks were 7/10. However the food was a 1/10 I had fish and chips, the food tasted like it was cooked old oil and the fish itself was mainly fried dough. Then after 10pm mice came out from under a table across and was just out and about in the restaurant. In any state/country I’ve ever been in I’ve never experienced something like that before. To have disgusting food then to see mice running about in a restaurant you just ate in is beyond disgusting. If mice are running around upfront I can only imagine how mice are running around the kitchen where food is stored and cooked. I have a video of the mice running around, which google won’t allow videos so I provided screenshots of the video.

Came in for drinks and food after attending a show at the theater. Atmosphere is cute and the host and waiter were friendly. We ordered a round of drinks and bread/butter service along with the poutine appetizer right away, as we were starving and just attended a 2+ hour show. Our cocktails were very tasty and came out at a reasonable time frame given the bar area was steady. After 30+ minutes our server came by for the first time to check on us and told us the kitchen couldn't keep up with capacity and our food would be out shortly, to which we waited another 20+ minutes to finally receive our food which was literally one small loaf (4 small slices) of bread with butter and a very small skillet of fries (probably 15 fries total). We watched numerous tables around us with 5+ guests receive their entrees before us. Nobody ever really said sorry or addressed the fact that we waited an hour for bread and fries. If there were a manager floating around we would have notified them of the issues but there was nobody, so we paid our bill and left. Very disappointed as we planned to order meals after our apps and we all walked out still starving an hour plus later!

Pretty happy with the food and service. Only problem I had with this restaurant is the atmosphere for dinner. I brought my parents here for dinner at 5:30pm and it was really loud, more of a bar atmosphere.

The place is nice, but just wouldn’t be my choice again for a dinner where I wanted to sit and talk. Would go again if I was going to sit at the bar maybe or go with a friend

I can't believe I've lived here for 6 years without knowing about this place! I came here for brunch at 10am on a Saturday. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating and the service is great.

I got the pork belly eggs benedict after seeing it in another review, and I can't recommend it enough! Each element is pretty perfect -- a buttery toasted English muffin, perfectly crispy and not-too-fatty pork belly, a perfectly poached egg, and wonderful sauce. If I had to critique anything, I would say it was a tiny bit on the salty side. It also came with a salad (lightly salted and oiled, but a pinch of acidity may have helped offset the saltiness of the eggs benedict) and potatoes (lightly seasoned).

My friend got the chorizo hash but substituted the kale for onions and peppers, which the staff were very kind about doing. My friend also complimented the fig jam, which he requested to go with the bread.

The menu items are not cheap ($19 for eggs benedict, $18 for chorizo hash), but they are done well and are quite hearty. There are many more dishes that I want to try on the brunch menu alone (tres leches French toast?!), let alone the rest of the menu! I have a new favorite brunch spot in Davis, and I'll definitely be back.

Happened to be passing through Somerville over the weekend and am SO glad we stopped at the Foundry On Elm. Because it was a spectacular fall day, we opted to sit outside and it was the right choice. We weren't planning to eat a full meal so we started with a dozen oysters, the truffle parm fries, and a local beer and bloody mary. Everything was perfect. The service was prompt and the vibes were unmatched. We enjoyed it all so much we decided to order another round...of everything! Not sure when we'll find ourselves in MA again, but will be sure to beeline to The Foundry on Elm.

Started with the lost at sea cocktail and it was a great drink to try out. My wife had the chicken milanese and it was amazing, I had the steak frites and holy hell definitely get this item. Delicious cut of ribeye and it was amazingly seasoned. What an incredible dinner and for dessert I had a black forest cocktail which was amazing and can be seen in the photo.

Wow, what an experience! The cocktails are excellent here and the staff is incredible. The atmosphere is quite possibly the best in Davis Square. Specifically, our bartender Brendan really made our group’s night with his superb customer service.
