We had a lot of fun with the ice cream advent calendar this year. Great way to sample a bunch of flavors! Red raspberry cookie dough and black raspberry chip were our favorites!
Service was incredibly accommodating and friendly. I 100% would recommend this location to friends and anyone visiting MA.
Wish chocolate and vanilla were served but I enjoyed what I got.
the ice cream is just very .. not great
The service staff did not tell me you only get to try 2 flavours and must decide. They only told me after I already tried 2 flavours and didn’t like either. They were also cold and rude. The lack of prayer communication demonstrates a severe lack of communication skills and professionalism. The flavors were not outstanding, but it’s good ice cream. I won’t be back because of the poor service skills by the staff though.
Underwhelming. Do better.
GOATED portions
Great ice cream with creative flavors. A local treasure!
It’s ok, but not amazing. There’s no competition in Union so this is the place. The hours are puzzling. How are they in the middle of Union Square and closed at 9pm on a Friday and Saturday night in summer. Pretty sure they could turn a profit past midnight.
The ice cream at Gracie’s was very underwhelming unfortunately. The staff were lovely, but the ice cream just wasn’t great in my opinion.
I tried 4 different flavours: the ginger, the heath bar, the pandan, and the black raspberry chip.
All 4 flavours were much too sweet in my opinion, except the ginger which had a nice kick to counterbalance the sweetness. Ice cream is supposed to be sweet, but sugar shouldn’t be the main flavour.
I could barely taste the chocolate or toffee in the Heath bar scoop. The raspberry with chocolate was so sweet it was hard to finish.
Lastly, I think they maybe didn’t store the ice cream at a cold enough temperature because it was very soft and melting very quickly. I would have liked a thicker, creamer texture, which would last a bit longer. Maybe this was a one off mistake though.
I'm in love, and it tastes so good. I can't believe it took me this long to find out about Gracie's ice cream. Delicious, premium ice cream that bends towards Justice. The ice cream is great and the shop is a treat to visit. Highly recommended

Pricey, and unlike basically every other ice cream shop in Somerville, they almost never have any dairy-free or vegan options.
Edit: Can't reply to the owner's message, but we last came in on March 22, and I asked a staff member if there were any non-dairy options, and they said no, and there was no indication that DF options would be available at a different time. I understand the lack of demand, but so many other local ice cream shops in Somerville put in the care to consistently have vegan options, that's it's disappointing to feel excluded or under-served here. It sucks to go here with a group of friends and be unable to participate in any way because my dietary restriction is an afterthought at Gracie's.
Love this little ice cream shop. Homie vibes
no vegan options
loveeeee their ice cream. the person who scooped my ice cream was super nice and the ice cream itself was delicious. 10/10.
I'm spending the night in Boston and the hotel had a special treat in their food court freezer, Gracie's Ice Cream! Their Black Rasberry Chip is AMAZING, creamy and flavorful!!
