I never give Google reviews but there were too many issues I felt compelled to post. The most subpar quality food…. Frozen seafood… I’ll leave it at that. Gimmicky menu, dubious business practices, expensive prices… it is clear the owner does not care about quality or its customers. This restaurant seems to exist for Uber eats and the like but probably has no repeat customers.

Great place for an intimate dining experience. The environment was small and comfortable. The waitstaff was attentive and friendly. The food was increadibly fresh. It was also delivered fast, hot, and as ordered.Might I add that the Strawberry Margarita was amazing. Must try the onion rings. The breading is unmatched. We will definitely return. Great gem in Somerville. Check em out!

I did an Ubereats pick up order when they had the b1g1 free of Happy Family A. It's supposed to be 1/2lb snow crab, 1/2lb shrimp, 1/2lb crawfish with corn and potatoes. It should be at least 1.5lbs of meat. With 2 bags, it should've weigh 3lbs. Well, it wasn't without the sauce, potatos, and corn. That was a little disappointing. The seafood was fresh though.

We found the Happy Crab accidentally and we are so grateful for this accident. We are a family of 6 and try to go as often as we can which is probably 6 times a year. The owner is an absolute sweetheart and she runs around taking care of her guests like they are family. While we have enjoyed some appetizers in the past we really go for the seafood boil and everyone customizes their bad accordingly. I always get clams, mussels, crawfish, head on shrimp and a lobster tail and I cannot convey to you how incredibly delicious it is. You get a bib to wear because it can get a little messy but that’s honestly half the fun. The seafood comes in a bag with potatoes and corn in every bag and you can add other items as well. I usually add okra and sausage and get my sauce medium Cajun which delivers more flavor than anything I’ve ever had. You can order 3 different Cajun levels of sauce or choose a garlic butter sauce which is what my wife usually gets. Sauces can be tricky because if not handled delicately the sauce can drowned out the seafood but make no mistake about it the sauces do not steal the show here. The star of the seafood boil is unmistakably the seafood!The service is also very very good and you honestly feel appreciated.The only bad part of this experience for our family is leaving but that is easily remedied with another visit.Kid-friendliness: Everyone is welcome here and the food is loved by all ages.

Felt iffy on the time that I ordered from here due to the fact the restaurant was closing but was not disappointed with the flavor the sausage, shrimp was cooked perfectly the crab legs were soft enough to break and sauce was amazing. Would have like bigger legs and more sauce but still worth it regardless. Definitely will order again and earlier. Loved the fact that there was a coupon and menu attached. Big thank you to the kitchen staff for cooking the order at closing.

Listen- this place has the freshest crab in the Boston Metro area- that alone is enough but then they mix the delicious snow crab with a spicy savory Cajun heat, steamed in a bag with sausage, lobster, shrimp, noodles, potatoes and it’s the most aromatic, sensory experience. Fully customizable. Dawn your bib and gloves and lose yourself in the steamy bag and appreciate the surroundings of an amazing family owned business that is making incredibly good food and working incredibly Hard. I love happy crab but I won’t gate keep it- Somerville needs to know that Happy Crab is one of the best restaurants around and don’t judge it on the takeout because it’s so much more than what you receive in your take out container.Kid-friendliness: If you bring your own markers your kids can draw on the paper cloth.

Me and my friend got Happy family N with extra spicy cajun, 2 plain cajun noodle, extra corn, eggs and side of a drink. The meal was 10/10 the spicy was 10/10 not too spicy just right and yep we got extra spicy. The boil had plenty of sauce that came with it, so that made it extra delicious. I’ll be coming back again. And for those wondering me and my friend shared that boil and we couldn’t even finish it all, we had to get a to go back for later when we are home! definitely recommend
I've eaten here 20,000 times so I'm biased, but the food is SO GOOD and also affordable. The boil bags are their specialty--I eat these to reward myself for making it through a hard day. Don't skim on the shrimp--I know the crab gets all the attention but they know how to cook their shrimp here. Plenty of other options for when I need a quick bite: the fish po boys are *chef's kiss*, and the clam chowder comes in a little bathtub which is adorable. The fried calamari and oyster are other notable mentions. Honestly, I hope Happy Crab stays here till the end of time--really thankful for their presence in the neighborhood.

I ordered last night for delivery. Extremely disappointed. Paid $23 (+$5.95 uber eats menu fee +taxes+service fees+tip) for a lobster roll that was so tiny and had barely any lobster meat. Owner claims the rolls have 4oz and I wish I had measured it because that was definitely less, but I have no proof, other than the picture attached that speaks by itself. Two bites it took to eat it.I've never felt so scammed from a delivery in my life. Don't fall for it, avoid this place.
