Great ice cream!
đŠ đ We always love a summertime treat from J.P. Licks, especially the one at Assembly Row! Donât let the long line fool you! While Iâm pretty classic with my final decision, Iâve never tried a flavor at J.P.âs that I didnât like. However, a classic chocolate frappe is my all time favorite treat at any J.P. Licks!
This place is very well located. They need to do a deep cleaning, it looks dirty. The bathroom needs repair because there's a leak and it smells bad. It would be horrible if they shut the place down due to poor hygiene.
Love their ice creams though expensive!
Terrible. Just terrible. We had 2 familyâs infront of us one with 3 people who got 1 and 2 scoop cups, and just a man and woman. THEY HAD 3 PEOPLE WORKING AND WE WAITED 30 MINUTES until someone even helped us. They left one girl to scoop herself then 1 guy was stocking ice cream and the other just standing at the register, WITH A LINE BEHIND US OUT THE DOOR. Then she took our order we ordered 2 EXTRA THICK milk shakes that came out like literal milk that took her 10 minutes to do and then finally someone came and punched in and made my banana split. Theyâre pretty expensive so youâd expect good service and good icecream but it wasnât any of that.
Just visited tonight 5/31/25. Iâve been here a handful of times already and the ice cream is very good. BUT I have a big problem with a crew that doesnât understand the importance of food safety and allergy awareness. One of the employees was refilling the toppings with a bonnet on. Very unprofessional. I stood in a nearly empty line and wasnât greeted for a good 5 minutes. I asked for a medium size of my flavors. Before I could say anything else, he just pushed the ice cream over the counter w/o suggesting toppings. I said âI wanted to add toppingsâ. He had the nerve to say that the cup would fit my toppings and he could put them in a tiny cup in the side. ABSOLUTELY NOT. Do your job correctly, sir! I said âNo I donât want it like that.â He decided to put it in a large cup with the toppings. This young man with neck length blonde, curl hair was pretty âdisconnectedâ to put it nicely. I ask for raspberry purĂ©e and as he starts dipping it out I stop him and notice thereâs a trace of either Reeseâs or some tree nut on top. I said âWait thereâs nuts mixed in there.â He seemed so oblivious! He asked if I wanted the toppings from another separate container, to which I said yes. This wasnât to be a pain, because I wanted walnuts. BUT nut allergic reactions are not to be played with and I am sensitive to certain tree nut flavors. When he gave me the ice cream I asked if he was ServSafe Certifies. He said, âWhat is that? I donât know what this.â I said âOh, ok.â Interesting! He offered to asked his manager. I said no need, it was alright. This young man said that thereâs a was a sign that shows the allergy disclaimer. I responded âWhat happens when you get a customer that didnât know they were allergic to one of the toppings, or trusted that thereâs no cross contamination regardless?â Yâall just hire anybody. Stay away from places that let their employees choose their dress code, have no proper customer engagement training , and most importantly: donât understand the critical nature of food handling to avoid a quick hefty lawsuit! NO WAY Iâm eating here again!!
Just a few major red flags I saw:
1. Not wearing gloves
2. Poor attitudes
3. Cross contaminating tree nuts with other toppings
4. NOT aware of basic food safety measures
5. Mishandling dairy products
I placed an order through Uber eats for me and my son we got two brownie hot fudge sundaes that we paid $12.98 for and it was literally not even a scoop of ice cream in either one of them. The entire order for two two ice creams because I wouldn't call them Sunday cuz there was no ice cream in them $32.98 I've never paid that much for a sundae I called helpline for Uber eats and they said it was past the cutoff date which I ordered on May 28th but unfortunately I was in the hospital yesterday and after speaking to my son is like yeah Mom I noticed it was no ice cream in it literally a chocolate pie with all kinds of fudge sauce so they can do anything for me to call the restaurant. All the business I provide to Uber eats and they don't even want to help me it's ridiculous but I just wanted to reach out to you and let you know that it wasn't worth $12.80 I understand you're a good ice cream shop but I was shocked when I saw the price for the brownie you had fun Sunday without the ice cream
Best IC in Boston.

The girl was very friendly and sweet, just like the ice cream they offered. I was struggling to decide which flavor I wanted, and she let me try the ice cream. Excellent service!

While staff is generally pleasant but lacks customer service skills, my review is based on cleanliness. I live in the area, so this is somewhere I frequent. Every table is always sticky and gross. The bathroom is nasty. Itâs convenient and consistent so far, yes, but 3 star at best.

I have trouble digesting ice cream but my friend and I wanted it! So we went to assembly row in Somerville and the baby had fallen asleep in the car. So I ran in to see what I would like so then she could run in and get what she likes too, and the girl working was amazing. I saw a chocolate and vanilla dairy free Ice cream. She had already said I could try any or all the flavors which was amazing so I asked to try the non dairy vanilla. Much to my surprise I loved it and added hot fudge and Oreos. It's the first time I ever finished a whole ice cream! I forgot what my friend ordered but she was just as happy. For me the way I was greeted and offered to try any flavor or all was above and beyond. I know they usually do that but this was extra special because I didn't feel ice cream sitting in me for days. We'll definitely be back. Everything, especially the service was perfect! I wish I knew her name but I was so excited to finally try the dairy free I didn't ask. And it did taste like ice cream. Highly recommend all J. P. Licks!
Vegetarian options: Thank you for showing me the dairy free and letting me try it. I loved it and will always get that now. Maybe next time I'll do a scoop of vanilla and a scoop of chocolate with my toppings. I've seen it at the store but wasn't spending $10 to try something I might not have liked.. #1 fan đ„°
Dietary restrictions: Dairy free ice cream available
Parking: I just wish I got her name, she deserves recognition for changing my life?
Kid-friendliness: There wasn't any kids I saw when I ran in but I was focused on ice cream.
Wheelchair accessibility: You could get in with a wheelchair but I think someone would have to open and hold the door. I'm disabled and didn't see a button to automatically open it but I also wasn't in my walker at the time so that is when I would have really noticed but it's on the ground level and I think of someone opened and helod the door it wouldn't be a problem

An ice cream shop located in assembly. In addition to ice cream, sundaes, sandwiches and coffee. The ice cream has many flavors and is delicious. This time I ordered caramel apple and lime grape ice cream cones. The caramel apples are very special, the cinnamon apples and caramel sauce are mixed together to be sweet and delicious. The fragrant grapes of lime grape absorb the flavor of lime wine, and it is also full of flavor when paired with milk ice cream. The cone is crispy and delicious when you eat it, and the bottom is wrapped in paper to prevent the ice cream from flowing all over your hands.

Rude road, rude. Rude and more rude, rude rude with unprofessional on top. That's what happens when you let 17-year-old children run. Your corporate store fire beware. Stay away, stay far far away.
