june bug is a GREAT spot for a dinner out. The starters and pizzas are all excellent. The shrimp toast really is as good as everyone says - especially the green butter that comes with it!

June bug is such a hidden gem. Tucked away in Somerville, this spot offers such high-quality food in such a low-key atmosphere. Dope aesthetic, great music, cool staff and good vibes. By far, this is my fave date spot. The shrimp toast is otherworldly, the "like a pepperoni" is such a home run, and the flan (with subtle citrus notes) is like a dessert descended from heaven. Hands down best spot in Somerville.
Parking: Parking can get a little dicey, but if you stick around long enough, something typically opens up at the on-site parking lot.

A wonderful experience! The food was inventive with wonderful flavors. Their wine list was great and we spoke to a very knowledgeable staffer to help us find a fun, funky bottle we loved so much we bought a second. A fantastic experience, we’ll certainly be back soon.

Cute spot with great service / vibe! Drinks & pizza (with the dippers- the chili oil and dylly ranch are a must have) were great. Could skip the appetizers next time, shrimp toast wasn’t anything special.

The pizzas were spectacular, appetizers were lackluster and not worth the price. Service was also nice.
We really enjoyed the service and pizza, the flavors were so unique, and the crust dippers were excellent. We ordered a bunch of appetizers, including the oysters, fish, lamb tartar, and heirloom tomatoes. Oysters and lamb was fine, but others were average. The appetizers were all at least $17-18 but the sizes were sooo small. The fish literally was just four or five thin slices.
If you come here just order the oysters and pizza, don’t get anything else.

Food is great, service is good (nice crowd), but the 3 stars is because of the automatic kitchen appreciation fee 4% and an automatic 20% tip. Yeah I get it, capitalism, the restaurant owner won’t pay a fair wage cause he doesn’t have to. But to automatically charge me 20% tip and 4% kitchen appreciation fee for 3 people! This is ridiculous, and it put me off because I felt taken advantage of. For me a 20% tip is amazing service like Michelin grade service. Just pissed offf about this, but the food was good.
My wife and I have been a few times since june bug opened and each time, the food and service have been stellar. They do a great job of rotating in different dishes based on local season, and their wine list always has something new & exciting to try. Annie has always been great in explaining the menu and providing a great, welcoming atmosphere when we come in. Cannot wait until we get to go back.

Amazing new(ish) restaurant in Union square. The atmosphere inside is very cozy and cool, the staff was insanely friendly, and the food was amazing! The secret garden cocktail was unforgettable!

First restaurant I have ever been to that had a fixed 20% gratuity built into the tab for a table of 2. Like what?

Cute vibes, the menu was small and had interesting items. We had to ask the waitress what a lot of the menu items were but she was so nice and really helpful in walking us through their unique menu

A delightful spot with great ambiance and delicious food. The wine list was extensive and the Pergolas from Argentina was a great light, fruity blend. We had excellent beef carpaccio and I highly recommend the kitchen sink salad. They had oysters as a special the night we went which were excellent. Make sure to ask about the scoop du jour for dessert!

Delicious pizza here at June bug. It is napoleton style which (in my very unbiased opinion…jk) is the best kind of pizza. I enjoyed all three pizzas we had. Specifically the garlic / hot honey one. Great flavor combos. The space is uniquely designed. I loved all the unique decor and fun vibes. Even the bathroom is pretty. Super friendly staff. Great addition to Union Square!
Parking: There is a small, free parking lot in front for several Union Square businesses. Otherwise, you must park in metered street spaces. Beware of resident only areas (check signs).
