Sadly after 23 years of eating meals their place is closing today. Meal last night was outstanding as always . Has been our go to place for some many events. It was a guy punch to many when the news came out. Out of the Blue will be sorely missed.

Sadly Out of the Blue will be closing. It's been our favorite restaurant for decades. The food is excellent, the service outstanding, and the ambience lovely. We will miss this place, its owners, the chef and its staff.

Out of the Blue is closing with the owners retiring. We have been loyal customers for 20 years and have never had a bad meal here. Lydia and Steve, the owners and their staff are great people who truly appreciated our business. We will miss you all. Thank you for all the wonderful meals and friendship.

We have been customers since they were at their previous address in Somerville. The food had been consistently delicious. So love that this is a family run establishment. We are very sad to say goodbye and wish them well.

We were planning on making reservations at Out of the Blue for this past Friday. I saw references to the restaurant closing in other peoples reviews. Sadly this is so. From the owner, gratitude for many years of faithful patrons and I'm sure staff, but also hope for retirement, travel... We were lucky to book a table and ate at one of our favorite restaurants, while guest after guest conveyed their gratitude to the owners and staff. The Out of the Blue family will be missed by our family and many more. Thanks for the sweet and savory memories:)

Out of the Blue was recommended by a friend and it turned out to be an excellent choice. We had early reservations so it was very quiet when we arrived but filled up after about an hour. Our waiter was very attentive and spot on with his recommendations. We enjoyed the food and the drinks were great. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Absolutely delicious food. The octopus was flavorful and tender. The sole was tender with a great crust, and the black pasta was amazing. I don't even like cannolis, but I loved theirs! Will definitely be coming back.

My wife is gluten and dairy free. She called and was told that she could have almost anything on the menu and it would be adjusted for her. When we went to order she was told there were only 2 dishes she could have and nothing else could be accommodated. I ordered the Sesame Salmon with a mustard sauce and my wife ordered the swordfish with a basil herbed wine sauce. Both came with what appeared to be the identical tomato sauce, but they both did have mushrooms and onions. My salmon was good but the swordfish was overdone, and the tomato sauce overwhelmed all other flavors. When we requested to move because it was cold we were told we had to wait for a specific table to open while there were other empty tables. Another couple made the same request and they were moved immediately. It was our wedding anniversary and we were hoping for an intimate dinner, but the restaurant was very crowded and loud. All in all it was a very disappointing dinner.

Out of the Blue is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant in Davis Sq. The waitstaff has been there for years and even though we go there one or twice a year they remember with a friendly greeting. The seafood selections are delicious with a couple of great specials every time. It is always a great value as well. Out of the Blue is a consistent gem in an area where the others restaurants seem to change rather frequently and not always for the best. Thanks again for a wonderful experience!

This sweet, old-school Italian eatery sits between trendier Davis Sqr spots and is easy to miss, but that would be a shame. Entrees, sides, and drinks are large and delicious. The focus is seafood, and everything we sampled, from grilled calamari, to linguini puttanesca with scallops, to a whole branzini, was a delight. Sauces are heavy on olive oil. Waitstaff is attentive and professional. Tables by the front door are chilly in the winter; try to sit further back.
