Best in town.
Really good variety of beers that they brew in house.
Great service and beer! I love the indoor outdoor feel and so my games and things to do for kids! The courtyard area is nice and the street is quiet which makes for a nice gathering space.
I’ve been going here since it opened. Great beer, super friendly staff, cool music, good decor and even fun video games to play.
But after today, I’m not going back. I counted 20 children and 15 adults when I walked in. Constant screaming. 2 of the children were even sitting at the bar. The staff asked them to attend to their kids and the parents rolled their eyes. None of the kids were even writhing 20 feet of an adult. It was chaos.
I left with a headache from all the screaming kids.
I had a very nice time at Portico. Great beer, great space, nice staff. There’s a Nintendo 64 inside if the weather is gross. Check it out!
Fun vibes nice open brewery with a huge patio out front! Beer was also super tasty highly recommend!
Good beer, tasty food and the best restrooms
The previous time I went, it was frustrating arriving and leaving by bike because the painted bike lane was constantly full of rideshare drivers who pull in front of you/into you without checking their mirrors. I went back for the first time in a while last night, and the new bike lane makes it so much less stressful to share the space with those drivers, so I feel much more comfortable coming back. The vibe in Portico itself is great, so I am glad the trip there and back is getting less stressful!
(Sorry, I don't know how to reply except by editing my review. It looks like May 25th is a Sunday; is it then or Thursday the 22nd?)
One of the best spots around here, so much that I nearly don't want to leave a review to keep it less crowded!
Beer is good, food is good, staff is super friendly, place is super kid friendly, bathrooms were clean every time I went...
They have games to play with, they have a nice outdoor space and thy are right on a green space so kids (and adults) can run around, come by bike etc.
After a tour at the near-by Taza Chocolate Factory, I visited Portico Brewing in Somerville. The spacious, modern taproom at 101 South Street features floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the area with natural light. Entertainment options include a variety of great Nintendo 64 games and bowls of LEGO bricks at the bar, adding a playful touch. The LEGO-crafted tap handles, one a winner from a competition, further enhance the unique ambiance.
Co-founders Alex and Alex were exceptionally welcoming, engaging with all patrons. Bartender Anna expertly guided me through their diverse beer selection, which includes lagers, IPAs, and a rich stout; each brew was flavorful and well-crafted.
Originally planning for a single drink, I was enticed to stay longer and enjoy dinner. The in-house taqueria, Taqueria El Barrio, serves generous portions of nachos, delicious tortas, and a variety of mouth-watering tacos that perfectly complement the beers.
Portico Brewing has become a new favorite spot, offering an inviting atmosphere, engaging activities, exceptional staff, and delicious food and drinks. I look forward to many more visits.

We Love portico! The vibe is very fun and the owners are so nice. Great staff, delicious food onsite (Taqueria El Barrio!) And of course, great beer! It’s also a perfect place for a party… while we were there a baby shower was going on, and it seemed like an amazing space for it!
Reached out about hosting an event here. Hardest pass I’ve ever seen. They add a 10% admin fee for parties with no explanation of where that goes. They only guarantee an 18% gratuity for the staff who will be doing most of the work, and they charge you to pay with your card. In 15 years in the restaurant industry I’ve never seen anything like this.
I thought about taking this down because I have not actually been to the brewery but Alex the owner was so defensive and unprofessional in his response. And he never apologized for it. Just doubled down that he was “clarifying” the situation. Just poor interactions with him all around.
Really great atmosphere, chill with good beer and puzzles, bar games on the side. It's a fun place to hang out and talk too, not too loud.
Love this place! A more modern looking brewery with tons of windows, natural light, barely seating as well as tables. It's connected to a hotel. They have Legos to play and build with while you drink a beer. They also have old school Mario video games to play which was fun. Beer was good great find right outside of Boston!
I liked it! Not a beer person, but the strawberry rhubarb vodka seltzer was amazing. Was there for a party and the Mexican food was flavorful and I'd recommend it. Torts and grilled chicken, roasted vegetables with tortillas.
