Whoa! Definitely the best BBQ in Boston. Actually better than what I was able to find in NYC recently. This is close to real southern-style food. The hot sauce is great. The only thing is the dirty rice could be dirtier. Haha. I ordered from Uber Eats and received plenty of food. My family said they've been here many times. I'll be coming back to try the cornbread and biscuits.

I had the pulled pork burger and fried pickles. Simple and as good as in my memory.

This place has sadly gone downhill. Sat at the bar intending to get some drinks and a bite to eat. Unfortunately the bartender seemed high as a kite and took forever to make our drinks, despite there being only one other couple there. And when the drinks came, they were decidedly mediocre. Ended up forgoing the food in favor of another nearby place.

Boston isnt knowm for its bbq, and that's okay. This place was alright... brisket was good. Mashed potatoes were weak. Mac and cheese was watery. We were sat at a dirty table that had gravy on 2/4 chairs... service was okay but it seemed as though the staff was incredibly overwhelmed even though there were only two tables sat inside and all patio tables were full despite there being 2-3 guys on the line, 3 servers, and 2 hosts...

I used to go here as a kid. Everything was good, definitely better than average. They were out of a few dishes and sides which was odd. Definitely would eat there again.

First started going here back in the early 1990’s, and it was amazing. But now it is depressing how much it has changed. The comprehensive menu of years gone by has been shaved down to a limited selection of items. The burnt ends were ok, but were nothing like the used to be. And blasting Reggaeton while eating distracts from the Southern BBQ vibe.

Let me start by saying: the menu is a bit misleading. The 3 meat combo platter is listed at $31, but if you want to add something like brisket, hot chicken, burnt ends, or really any of the more popular meats (except pulled pork), it’s an extra $4 each. That kind of pricing structure left a bad taste in my mouth—not because the food isn’t good, but because it makes the menu frustrating to navigate. In my opinion, a platter should reflect the cost of its most popular meats rather than having a bunch of annoying premium add-ons. Because let’s be honest nobody goes to a barbecue joint and orders a platter with pulled pork, pulled chicken, and hash—they come for things that I listed above, burnt ends, brisket, ribs, etc.

My second gripe is the portion sizes. At first glance, the tray looks great—and I’ll include a photo—but once you have it delivered to your table ready to dig in, the portions are surprisingly small. The mac & cheese was literally two bites, and the cornbread square was about 1”x1”. For two people, our tray came to $52 after tip, and we both left feeling like we could’ve eaten more. Personally, when I go out for barbecue, I want to leave absolutely stuffed and satisfied—like I won’t need barbecue again for a year. At $26 per person, that should feel like a heaping plate. Splitting it left us both disappointed with how little food there actually was.

That said—the barbecue itself is excellent. They really don’t miss on flavor. My honest recommendation to the owners: raise your prices and raise your portions. The food deserves it. Until then, if you’re planning to share a combo plate between two hungry people, I’d suggest grabbing an extra side or an appetizer to make it a full meal.

Overall, I’d still recommend this spot, especially for the quality of the barbecue. Just go in knowing what to expect when it comes to portion size and pricing.

Redbones, BBQ, and summertime just go together.

I've been here a couple of times. The last time, I waited quite a while to get seated just because there was no one at the host table, but I really do love the food here and it's not some fancy place so it doesn't really matter.

Pretty much anything off their menu will be good because they make a delicious bbq sauce, but I really loved the Texas beef ribs. My friend loves the burnt ends. Their sides are also quite tasty. I like the slaw, mac and cheese (a very classic, no-frills recipe that kind of tastes like a better Kraft boxed mac & cheese), and dirty rice. The cornbread is my favorite!

The servings are huge. I got the dinner with two sides, and I had to take half of it home because it was way too much for one sitting. Luckily they always serve your food in a takeout box so it was easy to just pack it up and go.

Very good ribs, pulled meats and their cornbread is always fresh and warm. Difficult to sample everything in one sitting. The staff was very friendly.

Parking: Parking lots are nearby, although they are small. If you're not local, the best bet is using the subway or ride share.

My favorite BBQ spot on the east coast hands down

I’m from the south and this place AINT IT! The mac and cheese tastes like kraft instant mac, the meat was dry, the bread was stale and crumbled. The place itself is old and dirty, and the employees just weren’t very professional. Our server was wearing a long red flowy coat and it dipped into my tea when he reached across the table. He also told us they made the sweet tea there but it’s literally packets you mix into water. The place was empty when we walked in and that definitely should have been a sign. Plenty of other places in the area, for cheaper and better food.
