I've been here a couple of times. The last time, I waited quite a while to get seated just because there was no one at the host table, but I really do love the food here and it's not some fancy place so it doesn't really matter.
Pretty much anything off their menu will be good because they make a delicious bbq sauce, but I really loved the Texas beef ribs. My friend loves the burnt ends. Their sides are also quite tasty. I like the slaw, mac and cheese (a very classic, no-frills recipe that kind of tastes like a better Kraft boxed mac & cheese), and dirty rice. The cornbread is my favorite!
The servings are huge. I got the dinner with two sides, and I had to take half of it home because it was way too much for one sitting. Luckily they always serve your food in a takeout box so it was easy to just pack it up and go.

Getting threadbare, but the cue is still great.

Very good ribs, pulled meats and their cornbread is always fresh and warm. Difficult to sample everything in one sitting. The staff was very friendly.
Parking: Parking lots are nearby, although they are small. If you're not local, the best bet is using the subway or ride share.

My favorite BBQ spot on the east coast hands down
I’m from the south and this place AINT IT! The mac and cheese tastes like kraft instant mac, the meat was dry, the bread was stale and crumbled. The place itself is old and dirty, and the employees just weren’t very professional. Our server was wearing a long red flowy coat and it dipped into my tea when he reached across the table. He also told us they made the sweet tea there but it’s literally packets you mix into water. The place was empty when we walked in and that definitely should have been a sign. Plenty of other places in the area, for cheaper and better food.

Very nice food. Had BBQ meats and my friend had a cheese burger that he rates among the best in the area. Cost was reasonable. Background music was a bit loud spoiling the atmosphere a little.

As someone originally from the south, I was pleasantly surprised by the barbecue here! This spot was recommended by a family friend, so we met up with family for dinner and drinks.
This spot feels like a fun cross between a dive bar and hipster bbq joint. The bones wall decor was really unique and added a fun flare to the basement seating arrangements. The music played leaned on the heavier alternative side, which I liked, but the volume was really loud, making it a little hard to hear each other. Service was good, nothing above and beyond, but about what you'd expect.
The location is great for barhopping after dinner!

We were given room temp water that was a bit foamy. We didn't get a good feeling of the place and it seemed a group of inexperienced kids were running it at that particular time at lunch.

One of the worst BBQ platters I’ve had in the GBA.
Even in Boston's lackluster BBQ scene, Redbones was by far the most disappointing experience I've had. I ordered the Smoked Beef Brisket Platter and the Baby Back Ribs for takeout, and both were horrendously dry except for the fatty portions. Without the BBQ sauce and some coleslaw, they were almost inedible.
I decided to give Redbones another shot and ordered the BBQ Meat Platter and Buffalo Wings on my second visit. The Meat Platter, a combo of pulled pork, pulled chicken, and burnt ends, was decent—nothing to write home about, but not bad either. However, the Buffalo Wings were a total letdown again. They were drenched in a lackluster buffalo sauce, and the wings themselves were as dry as a Boston winter.
I have no clue where all the good reviews are coming from, but I'm definitely not biting on Redbones again. The cornbread was probably the only thing I really liked, but that’s not a good enough reason to lure me back.

I returned to a restaurant was a favorite to find it now is a takeout place with wait staff. They no longer have plates and silverware, but takeout containers with plastic utensils.
The main dining area had tables filled with boxes and bags so there was limited seating. The slash beer list has been slashed by quantity and quality.
The food is now good, whereas it use to be the best in the area. I don't know why they gave up providing a restaurant experience, but they didn't cut the prices.

Not as awesome as it used to be. Still, delicious BBQ, what's not to like?
