What a great place to visit! I'm new to the area and this place was pretty accessible on foot. The group I went with ended up staying 2 or 3 hours and I'm sure I'll be back soon!
Bowling, beer and pizza. What else is there to ask for 😁
Good place if you like old bowling, great pizza
Must try Pizza
Bar man is cute
Old school ! Small bowling. Nice
This place is definitely famous for its candle pin bowling and wood fired pizza. Perfect to hangout with friends or kids. Pizza is delicious, staff is friendly and bowling lanes are fun
Had a great time bowling on with my wife! The pizza was also great!
Such a great time! The flatbread was delicious, the beer was cold and local, and the bowling was a smash! The reason I'm writing this review is for the friendly, easy-going service. Thanks for a great little Sunday outing to beat the heat!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Boston Must-Do — Sacco’s Bowl Haven
A trip to Boston isn’t complete without a stop at Sacco’s Bowl Haven! Just a few minutes’ walk from the Red Line, this place is a total gem.
Olivia the manager, Olivia the bartender, and Alexander at the front desk made us feel right at home. They shared the history of the lanes dating back to the 1930s, and told us about the recent upgrade to New Brunswick synthetic lanes — classic meets modern in the best way.
After bowling, we grabbed drinks and their wood-fired pepperoni flatbread — hands down one of the best flatbreads we’ve ever had. The bar was not only well-stocked, but also beautifully built using the original old wood lanes, which added such a cool, nostalgic touch.
Friendly faces, great vibes, and authentic New England candlepin. We’ll definitely be back!

Visiting for the weekend in Boston, traveled across town to “try” to finally play bowling, we call at 7pm, we get told we shouldn’t show up as we’ll probably won’t get an alley before 10:30pm (it closes at 11pm)…we show up, they clearly don’t want to put us on the waiting list, we insist, we go for drinks next door, never get the text, but just to confirm our doubts, we pass by at 10:10pm, 50 minutes before closing, there’s litteray NOBODY playing, only open alleys, and the girl give us the most “pissed off” face we’ve ever seen.
Morale of the story, people that work there have zero interest in giving any customer service and try their very best to avoid having anybody come, show up, put their name on the list, or basically come play freaking bowling. All they want is be done with their shift a whole hour before the close.
This is my first ever Google review, EVER. This was that frustrating.
I follow a vegan diet, and my other half has wanted to try Candlepin Bowling for years!
So we visited Sacco’s Bowl Haven and OMG, it was awesome!
The bowling is charming and they have local leagues involved. Yay!
The menu was put together by a chef who focuses on local produce and it shows.
Very well done ladies and gents, very well done. 👍👍
I grew up in Cambridge love coming here such a great spot to bowl so many incredible memories. Such a fun time. Staff was always nice.
Awesome little candlepin bowling alley. Super cozy vintage lanes.
