So, Rudy’s is irreplaceable, and this place isn’t Rudy’s. That’s the wrong measuring stick.
What this place is, though, is run by good people who care. The food is great, the Teele Square Daiquiri is amazing, and they kept the Rudy’s bar top.
Also: if you like whiskey, get the Low Life.

The food and service were good, the plates are pretty small so expect to order an appetizer and a main per person

My girlfriend and I took a friend to The Hollows in Teele Square last Friday night and unfortunately it didn’t live up to the strong reviews we had seen.
The positives: we were seated promptly and the cocktails were very reasonably priced at about $12, which was probably the highlight of the evening.
Unfortunately the food and service both missed the mark. After our server took our drink order we barely saw him again. We ordered two appetizers to share and asked that they be spaced out, but the entrees were dropped about two minutes after the appetizers arrived, before we had even started eating them and without share plates for the apps.
The fried calamari was good, but the rest of the food was underwhelming. The roasted cauliflower was bland, my pork, jalapeno, and artichoke pasta tasted oddly put together and lacked the flavors advertised, and my girlfriend’s “potato crusted” fish didn’t actually have a potato crust. The salad we shared also felt strangely assembled, with most of the ingredients sitting separately rather than coming together as a dish.
Our server never checked back after the first bites or asked if we wanted another round of drinks, and only returned near the end of the meal.
The space itself is very cool and we really wanted to like it, but between the rushed timing, underwhelming food, and inattentive service, the experience fell flat for us. Overall about a 2 out of 5.

I’m so glad this place opened in Teele !!! I have been several times since it opened. The food is excellent - love the burger (add bacon and caramelized onions) and the fries are delicious. Also the bread and butter. My husband loves the tagliatelle. Great cocktails and bar. Good service (they’re kind to my toddler) and the decor looks great. The owners are lovely. Highly recommend !!!

This place is a gem! Reasonably priced and friendly staff. Grass fed quality meat, amazing burgers & offers late night food! Hard to find. A must visit. Plus they have an awesome fireplace :)

Been there three times, it's a neighborhood haunt for us. Overall excellent—great cocktails, and the best grilled branzino I've ever had (please keep it on the menu)! The staff are attentive and knowledgeable; it's clear they want you to have a terrific time with excellent food at a great price!

Love everything about this place! Their playlist alone would bring me back, but the cocktails were great, and I especially enjoyed the American chop suey and pecan pie.

IT WAS GREAT.
The vibe right off the bat is chill and moody but not too moody. Elevated dark chill vibes. The decor is super vibey and cool. There’s a semi-private room with the most badass moody deaths head moth floral wallpaper. A cozy fireplace sits in the corner of the main dining room.
As soon as we sat down we were greeted by one of the owners handing us super cute vintage valentines! LOVED THAT!!
We started with house margaritas which were excellent!!! Sometimes a margarita has way too much sour mix or too much crappy tequila but these were perfect! You can trust a place that serves a good silver tequila house marg.
We also got a couple of small things to start with. The queso cauldron was really delicious with the perfect house made tortilla chips that were warm and the perfect thickness and saltiness do dip into the cheesy goodness of the queso.
We also got the pickle plate and the sourdough with butter.
The pickle plate was an assortment of housemade pickes - cucumber with onion, apple sticks, cabbage and cauli, and I think maybe daikon radish? all 4 were very flavorful and delicious and were a nice accompaniment to the gooey cheesiness of the queso.
The sourdough and butter were on another level of deliciousness though! It was so good that we had to order more later on in the meal. I could have sat there and ate bread and drank margaritas for hours.
For our entrees Matt got the Smothered and Covered which was absolutely divine! All scratch made - a pile of perfectly crispy hasbrowns served as the base for 2 fried eggs, mushrooms, butternut squash and a thick creamy mushroom gravy.
I got the American Chop Suey, which is a New England comfort food staple. This was elevated to levels beyond what your grandma makes! it is served in a cast iron skillet, full of elbow noodles in a rich homemade sauce with veggies and crispy bits around the edge - all topped with a huge piece of roasted bone marrow. I had never had bone marrow before, but it was scrumptious! A smooth velvety nutty piece of heaven that blended perfectly with the chop suey.
For dessert I ordered the dutch baby with maple syrup which was warm and fresh and custardy in a hot skillet and Matt got the Smores pie which should have had a freshly toasted meringue on it but the torch was out of gas. it was insanely rich and delicious even without the tableside toasting.
we were seated near the bar and all the bartenders were friendly, telling stories and making some fantastic looking drinks!
This is a great spot to chill later after work, have a nice date, grab some food and drinks with friends…any reason at all!
Its the kind of place where you can go and get food and drinks you know and love but they are elevated and a little different.
I highly highly recommend The Hollows!

Very much enjoyed a dinner here. Our waitperson was sweet and the food was on point! The queso had a nice kick and not too hot. The potato crusted haddock was light, flaky, and delicious. The Dutch boy is a high recommend on the dessert. Definitely worth a trip and will go back when im in the area again.

I used to love Rudy's back in the day, so was curious about the Hollows once it opened. I don't know why, but I was wary to try it, but I was wrong. It. Is. Spectacular. It's a great vibe inside. The people were really nice. And the food was so delicious. I love gnocchi and theirs was the best gnocchi I've had in 20 years. Highly recommend. My husband also loved the American Chop Suey.
