I went for the raving reviews but I found this place perfectly adequate. The cream of wheat was indeed the star of the show. It came quickly and hot, but then it was about a 45-50 minute wait for our mains. We went on a Sunday morning so maybe this is as slammed as they get but I wouldn’t recommend if you are super hungry. It also took about 20 minutes to get a table, but you can put your name on a wait list and they have free coffee outside which is a nice touch. The mains were decent… far from the best breakfast I’ve ever had but it was fine enough. Also heads up if you’re visiting from out of town/out of country it’s cash or venmo only.

Stopped in for breakfast. Food was great, toast they serve is delicious. Omelets and home fries were perfect. Didn't need to put hot sauce or ketchup on himefries. They start you out with cream of wheat and even though I usually don't eat it elsewhere this one was

Delicious food. I especially love their cream of wheat. Cozy atmosphere...warm weather offers outdoor, under grapevines, seating.

We came for breakfast and there was quite a long wait (over an hour and 30 minutes). This is typical though on a weekend. But we waited and the food was pretty good. The portions were decently sized and the cream of wheat was a nice add to have. The servers were very attentive and friendly, and it was nice and cozy inside. I would come back again if there wasn't such a long line, but not sure if it's worth the hour plus wait.

This place rocks. A diner atmosphere with stellar food and huge portions. I had the wheat pancakes with eggs and home fries. And the other reviews are not messing around - the cream of wheat is undefeated.

love this local spot - echoing what everyone says about their cream of wheat (it's worth the hype!) - big breakfast menu with good variety, service is always friendly & fast i particularly love their winter specials pro-tip: arrive when it opens to avoid the rush!

Never had cream of wheat before and I really liked it ! Quite a bang for your buck here. I got a chorizo patty sandwich and was very satisfied. Would love to try more of their options !

This unassuming Portuguese American restaurant may not look like much.

Great place to have breakfast in the area!

I came here solely for the cream of wheat because I was intrigued as to why people were so gung ho about it in the reviews. I was able to order a large cup to-go for $4. The ordering process was a bit weird because there is no front desk/register when you walk in, so I had to awkwardly wait at the entrance next to people who were eating. This place is also cash-only so keep that in mind if you come.I will preface this by saying that I have never had cream of wheat before, so I did not know what it should taste like and how it would compare elsewhere. I was able to eat about a third of the generous portion that they gave me. It tasted like a cinnamon-y congee: chunky, warm, and sweet. I was a bit iffy about the taste at first, but it grew on me the more I ate it. The sweetness did get overwhelming, though, which is why I couldn't finish it in one sitting, but I can see why this is comforting for so many people.Overall, I liked it. I can't speak to anything else on their menu, but I'll probably be back one day.

Oh my goodness. The best breakfast I’ve ever had in a very, very long time. Delicious food. I ordered the Portuguese breakfast out of the winter menu. The service is great, the ladies working there are very sweat. This place is 6 stars in my opinion. The coffee is high quality, the best and the creamy of wheat, I am so hooked on this thing now it will be difficult to live without it.
