The lady who took my order was lovely and helped me a lot to decide what to get! It came out super fast and was delicious! definitely a lighter-weight broth than some ramen, but flavors were balanced.

My siblings and I visited Totto on a Saturday for the very first time. I myself and one of my siblings never had ramen before one of them did. We ordered the shrimp ramen and miso pork ramen. The service was friendly. Our food came out hot however, the flavor of the food was just not the best at all. We asked for all the additives such as chili oil, etc and it did not make it better. The food overall was very bland the meat unseasoned just was not good. The broth honestly tastes like dirty kitchen soap, water. We understood that because we ordered appetizers and a couple of sodas that we needed to pay for part of the bill so we let them know and we let them know We didn’t want any issues just wanted to pay and go get better food as we were hungry. We just were not a fan at all of the Ramen. Instead of taking, at least one of the Ramen bowls that are at least $20 each depending on how many add-ons you get. The only thing the waiter gave us was an eight dollar discount. We basically spent $80 on food we didn’t even eat or like. The bowls were left pretty untouched full of ramen.

Not delicious
Ramen is okay, nothing to rave about.
Below is a letter I wrote to them on Monday (no response yet).
To whom it may concern:
I am writing to provide feedback on my experience at Totto ramen in Somerville, MA. My friends and I visited on Sunday 4/20 around 4-4:30pm.
The server was generally nice, but during her down time, we witnessed her picking her nose (quite vigorously) and flicking her fingers towards the floor. This happened at least twice in a span of 10 minutes, and we did not witness her going to the back to ostensibly wash her hands. She even processed another customers check directly after picking.
This was disturbing and upsetting on multiple levels- the most obvious reason being the behavior itself, but also the fact that she did this with no discretion in the servery area, and also that she did not practice hand hygiene.
I’ve been a food service manager for many years and had to discipline employees for such behavior back-of-house, but I hope that for your company’s and other patrons’ sake, this server is disciplined because I have not witnessed such blatant disregard for hygiene front-of-house.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
EDIT: two months later and still no response!! Please enjoy your booger ramen 🤡
The food is not worth the price. The vegetarian ramen consists of canned corn, some chopped lettuce, a couple of enoki mushrooms and avocado. No protein and mostly non-Asian ingredients which didn’t really add anything to the dish. The broth and ramen were fine, nothing exceptional. They were playing loud reggeton and bachata music which I found to be somewhat out of place.
Wish the ramen was less expensive or had more stuff in it. Just feels like something i could make at home then again i have a culinary degree.
Visited the Assembly Row shop. The dishes don't look like the display pictures but, they were still delicious and proper portions.
I looked forward for the takoyaki but sadly it was not available when we went there and they only told us after serving the ramen. The server is rude and kind of insisted that we replace our takoyaki order which we did, and ordered the fried squid instead. After paying the bill, she also told us that here in America, we should leave a 20% tip (we left a 5% tip btw) and told us “but it’s ok”. This is my first time leaving a review, and it’s a bad one because we were really offended.
ramen flavors seem off, not sure what it is but not going back
The taste is all still the same since the first time I ate there, but what disappointed me is the quality in the pork. In the ramen or in the bao, the pork slices doesn't melt in your mouth like they used to. Still my go to for really rich and creamy ramen broth, but the pork slices aren't the same anymore.

This ramen spot has a great price point and very fast service. For that, you’ll get an average bowl of ramen with nothing inherently special to it.
I had the miso soup, which seemed to have a base broth and then a scoop of the miso paste as a garnish that you then mix in. The noodles are served firm by default, so if you want softer noodles you need to specify.
A good variety spot for this area and with a nice atmosphere inside, but the meal won’t be overtly spectacular.

The place is good, the location is terrific, but the food is disappointing, it has no flavor, it’s plain and boring, wouldn’t recommend it.

It used to be a good place. But everything went downhill with overpriced $17 ramen that only comes with ramen noodle, soup and 2 piece of meat.

If you find yourself in Assembly Row, you absolutely have to try this amazing ramen place. A single bowl will definitely hit the spot. I had a fantastic experience there 6 years ago, and when I visited again recently, the taste was still just as amazing. Whether you're hungry or just need something warm on a cold day, this is the spot for you. The place is clean, and the staff is super friendly.
