It pains me to write this because I used to go to true grounds all the time. I stopped in after a doctor's appointment since I missed it. While the Bee Knees latte does taste the same (as honey harvest) and was good the food was not good. I got the 'chipotle' burrito. It was 10.50 which is more than they use to be. However it was also less than half the size of the old burritos. I wouldn't have minded these things except this breakfast burrito tasted nothing like chipotle. Instead it was filled with onions and the bad part- so so so much RAW garlic in the sauce. All I could taste was garlic. I even saved some for my husband to see if it was just me and he said he couldn't even taste the eggs over all the awful raw garlic flavor. Why do people have to buy restaurants and then promptly ruin them? :( This won't be my stop anymore after doctor visits unfortunately

Food is mediocre and small for the price. I bought one of their coffees just to find out they don't have Wi-Fi.

Their coffee is good. The vibe is fine. The service was friendly and pretty quick. What a waste, there are better cafes a stone's throw away.

very pleasant staff. great coffee with lots of creative in-house made flavors, syrups, and reductions available. the sandwiches are tasty and made with very fresh ingredients. the baked goods are delicious without relying on too much sweet and sugary… like, actually good.

The food is great but be prepared to wait a very long time to get it (~30 min for a breakfast sandwich). Unfortunately, after my wait time, the order was not correct. Great food, seemingly great people, but very under staffed and apparently not detail oriented.

Their scones are indeed worth the hype.

The staff is incredibly friendly, the music selection is excellent, the avocado toast is impeccable, the cappuccino is very reasonable (but I can also be unfortunately a snob for those, so to others it might be excellent)

I didn’t like true grounds for a while because my initial impression was slower service, but when I came in the later afternoon, Andrew made me the best iced latte I’ve had in a while & did it v timely. I got it with “bees knees” which is a honey syrup and it was soooo good. I also tried the chocolate scone and it was delicious. Really chunky, flaky, perfectly sweet……….. wow. I’ve been sleeping on true grounds for too long

So incredibly mediocre. Closest cafe to my house and I’ve tried to like it and it’s just kind of crappy. Sorry guys.

One of the coffee shops with the highest quality coffee I've tried in Boston area.

Not a fan of the atmosphere, the place can use a refresh and an AC ... but the espresso and espresso drinks were exceptional and totally worth it. The staff is very friendly.

I will start by saying I have yet to have any actual food from True Grounds except the pastries. The coffee is very good and personally I the chocolate chip cookies are amazing. Sometimes feels odd getting a cookie while there’s so much to chose from, but I get it every time. There’s a decent amount of seating, the staff are friendly, but the one downside is parking. It is Somerville after all, so there is a lack of parking on the street as well as side streets.

I keep going back to this spot because I live in the neighborhood and so desperately want to like it. I think this place survives mainly because of the vibes they create (cute local coffee shop, perhaps vaguely queer), but the food really is very mediocre and takes a while to be served. I got the “chipotle” breakfast burrito which was weirdly kind of watery(?) and had very little flavor, and the bagels for the breakfast sandwich look and taste like bagels you would get from stop and shop. For the price you pay for the food, it doesn’t seem worth it to me. I don’t understand the hype about this place, maybe I’m missing something but I just don’t get it

Expensive, didn’t ask if I wanted my bagel toasted (so I automatically got an untoasted bagel), lowest suggested tip was 18% on their tablet for no service, very busyWent home and toasted the bagel myself.

WiFi: no wifi, so use a data hotspotOutlets: adequate outlets for charging devicesFood: the chive bacon scone is quite light in flavor & would not recommend. It’s also weirdly kind of sweet. But the chocolate chip scone and pumpkin chocolate chip muffin are really goodCoffee: is also quite goodVery chill/relaxed place to work. The staff are also very kind! Thank you!
