Seriously, the best fra diavolo I've had in quite awhile, I order Scallop fra diavolo over linguine, besides the pasta being cooked to my request the Scallops were dead on perfect/ my wife ordered Veal, she felt it was a little overcooked, palatable but still overcooked... all and all an excellent meal and well worth putting up with Somerville s parking... lol
Vinny's was incredibly busy Saturday night! We were seated downstairs. The room could use a little updating. Regardless, the food was terrific.
Always a friendly encounter with the staff. They ask what you want, they make it literally right in front of you and you pay and eat. Nice and hot the way it should be. No hassle no waiting. Whenever I'm in East Somerville I stop in no matter what to give them business. I try to help out the local stores. They have been doing things for yrs here and if it ain't broke don't try to fix it. Thank you for always being reliable and consistent. Hard to come by these days.

Prices are super reasonable, and food was outstanding. Got a hot tip from a Boston Police Officer on this neighborhood gem. The delicious bread came out warm. With butter or oil on table, yum. Fagioli Soup, Rice Balls, Veal Osso Bucco, Chix & Pasta with cream sauce: Bangin' ! Manga X 10!
We brought our family for a relaxed dinner and did not regret it. The food was great, the atmosphere is casual and the portions were very generous. This is a local neighborhood gem.
Our last night in Boson, we came to Vinny's, a great neighborhood Sicilian restaurant, that was near our hotel. We had Ravioli, Veal Picatta, Penne, Angel Hair Pasta. House made Italian Sausage & Meatballs. Our meals were absolutely delicious & prepared perfectly. Our lovely server was Donatella. She gave us over the top service. Highly recommend Vinny's for great Sicilian cusine....

Some of the best Italian food around. Been coming here for years and have always had an excellent meal! Lowkey spot and feels like a old school Italian joint. Highly recommend!

Sat in the basement, group of similar size next to us arrived after us, received food and finished/paid before we got ours. We waiting over an hour for our meals that arrived microwaved from sitting. My meal was way overcooked and sent back. The sauce on every member of my groups dish had sitting oil all over the plates from being microwaved. The waitress was nice and attempted to get me something else but I didnt want to wait any longer. Noone from my group took their leftovers home. The bathroom being in the kitchen is strange and inconvenient. Italian food may not be the kitchen staffs specialty.

Was a little disappointed after the hype. The atmosphere was like what they thought an Italian restaurant should be like in the 1950s. Now it is rundown and not that clean. The service was good! Now the food, we started with the fried calamari and bread which were both very good.My wife and I had the chicken bracciola. We were disappointed, the chicken was overcooked and the sauce was not fairly flavorless. The sauce needed to be thicker and more robust to complement the ham, cheese, spinach and sundried tomatoes. Our daughter had the homemade pasta with marinara and meatballs. The pasta was predictable, the meatballs were flavorful but too dense. So overall the dish was marginal.
Sorry Vinny's we really don't see a need to comeback, too many other great options in the area.

We come here a few times a year and it's always great, but tonight we thought was especially delicious. We had the haddock fra diavalo and the shrimp with marinara, both over homemade pasta. The room was hopping and in spite of the crowd the staff was on top of everything and still treat you like a welcome guest. We're all very fortunate to have this restaurant in our neighborhood.
Vinny's was excellent. Total home style feel, great servers and always on top of it. I highly recommend this place. Definitely worth the trip. First time in Boston (I'm from Az.) and I would highly recommend this place to all. Great food and Atmosphere. Thank you for making us feel welcome

Was craving a slice for lunch while I was up im Somerville, saw Vinny's was close to where I was so I stopped by. I was doubly delighted by the fact that they had a sign noting that they served Sicilian slices (my favorite).
The inside is beautiful in a nostalgic, cozy way. The decor and general atmosphere made me feel as though I was transported back at least 30 years, and it doesn't feel tacky or outdated either which is extremely rare.
I ordered a cheese Sicilian slice for a nice and easy $2. It was good, especially for that price. I don't think it was the best, a bit too greasy and a tad dry, but it did the job. The customer service was cordial which I appreciate more than an over-the-top welcoming when you enter a restaurant.
All-in-all I think this is more of a dinner centered establishment, and I only stopped in for a lunch slice, which may not have done the restaurant justice. Whenever I'm back in the north shore I hope to give Vinny's a try for dinner.

Me and my family came in to eat for moms anniversary, we even had reservations. We had to wait 20 minutes to be seated where we can clearly see open spots for us to be seated at. Afterwards we were seated and made our order. 2 HOURS in and still no food or anything. We ended up leaving seeing as they were clearly not going to feed us after paying for our drinks

We stopped in to Vinny’s for some local Italian food and were greeted with the best hospitality and kindness we’ve ever experienced in a restaurant. Mary and Maria made our night and made our little family of 4 feel very cared for and welcomed. Definitely a family friendly place! The food was delicious, we got the eggplant parmigiana, Alfredo, and espresso martini and all of it was 10/10. If you’re looking for Italian cuisine and a great atmosphere stop in and give Vinny’s a try!
