Love the place itself, it is very cute and has nice decorations. Unfortunately, the service was terrible. It wasn’t amicable at all and she seemed annoyed at any questions about the ingredients. We got a capuccino and a vanilla latte and they were both not good. The flavor is extremely bitter and impossible to enjoy.

Guy working here does not know how to make espresso drinks. Ordered a latte and a cappuccino on different occasions and received the same thing both times. Weak watery drink that’s barely warm.

The food we had (empanadas and sweet crepes) was mediocre and it is sad that everything is served in plastic, even for dine-in.

Service was good. Low key place to have good coffee and a snack.

Cute and inviting coffee shop. I got a cappuccino and it was great

Got a lox bagel sandwich and the mushroom cabbage empanada. The empanada was pretty disappointing but the sandwich was solid.

I came here because I saw it on too good to go, and I found it to be so lovely. Maria is friendly and the vibes are great. Between the bright walls, nice music and natural light, I definitely recommend spending time at this Cafe. There are places to lock your bike and discounts through Bicycle Benefits if you bike and have a sticker.

I don’t usually even leave Google Reviews but I needed to give a shoutout to this place! It’s quiet, out of the way, and has great food, coffee, and service. When I want somewhere to go and don’t feel like fighting crowds, Zaruma is there as an adorable neighbourhood stop. I have spent many hours working remotely from here and would highly recommend everyone in the area stop by 😊

Zaruma is such a hidden gem. Right across from Magoun station, its the perfect location to grab a coffee before commuting into work. They have a large breakfast/brunch menu with many empanada options. I usually get a sausage egg and cheese on a bagel and an oatmilk latte- both always hit the spot. Prices are fair and its great supporting a local business rather than a chain.

First time in after driving by many times. 8am I am psyched to get a nice coffee so I ordered a latte and the girl showed me that the espresso machine was not up and running so I ordered a drip and she showed me that there was no coffee either. No clear explanation, so I was out, unfortunately. Empanadas were stacked deep and looked amazing. I'll try again.

I am a firm believer that your coffee shop should always have two people working. Came in late morning and the single staff person was working her but off. And because she was so rushed some orders were not right, but no one wanted to swamp her with more work.

Gotta love a local neighborhood coffee shop!

Great food and coffee, poor service for takeout. They won’t even inform you if they replaced an item on your pickup order. They just let you think you’re getting the food you ordered, which can be disappointing/risky in case of allergies.

I regret it took me so long to find this neighbourhood cafe. In contrast to Diesel (crowded, pricey) and Three Figs (cramped, pricey), Zaruma is spacious, relaxed, and modestly priced. It has a casual/wholesome neighbourhood vibe, and the people who work there are kind to dogs. This is not a destination for foodies, or people who are perfectionists about how their drinks are made, but I was happy with the quality and options. I’ll be back :)
