We enjoyed the banana bread latte. Great prices on the lattes too! Cozy atmosphere with a variety of seating options and very friendly/accommodating staff. My toddler loved looking at their books.
Have been a customer since the thirsty mind first opened at the Commons in the 90s when I was a regular customer. It's been quite a few years since my last visit. I do miss the open area with more of a living room feel. It was crowded with very little seating available. Areas being taken up by a single person made it harder. Not that there weren't enough seats it was just crowded on a Sunday @1130ish. My latte was so so. The bagel was good. I really wasn't feeling...
I love independent coffee cafes, they have atmosphere and authenticity. Thirsty Mind has been around forever and does it all well, friendly people, creative drink options, decent food. They have added music and wine to expand offerings and to stay relevant. They feature local artists and partner with other local small business. Places like this need to survive, they are creators and models of local culture.
