Having read reviews on TA, I made a reservation (definitely recommended!). We visited a local attraction (Naumkeug's "Winter Lights") and arrived early; no problem. Jody, our server, was friendly, welcoming and efficient. Our starters of Butternut Squash and Onion Soups were excellent. Entrees of Shrimp Fra Diavolo, Shepherd's Pie and Lamb shank were outstanding; poritons were big. OUaT is off the Main Street, but definitely worth seeking out. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Wonderful meal and service - Will be back for sure!

Stopped by here (rather spur of the moment) on the way home from our trip to the Great Lakes. A bit expensive but VERY good. We both ordered salads, not wanting anything too heavy. Greens were fresh and crisp; smoked salmon was just right, and a nice amount of dressing as well. Fresh coffee is served from a French press. But the tables are small and *close*; might be a bit hard to maneuver for those with mobility issues. In short, amazing food, quick and friendly service, short wait times. Due to the restaurant's location, you'll park and then walk half a block to get inside, but it's worth it. The building is *old* (like everything around it), and the bathroom is up a flight of stairs. Wonderful food and ambiance.
Absolutely wonderful! Small hole in the wall place with delicious local food. Menu was comparable to a high end fancy place but with a best friend's dining room feel. It is definitely worth trying

First off this restaurant did us a favor by accomodating us. Then they follow up with PHENOMENAL FOOD and the wait staff is a hoot! Exceptional dining experience all around. If youre wondering whether you should eat here, stop wondering GO!

After touring the Pumpkin Show at Naumkeag, we stopped in Stockbridge for dinner. We found Once Upon a Table, a quaint place, however, without reservations we sat outside. It was a little chilly, however with coats it was pleasant enough. We started out with bread accompanied by the most DELICIOUS tasting flavored olive oil. I enjoyed French onion soup, corn chowder, mushroom pesto polenta, and shepherd's pie. I found my pumpkin chili to be a little thick and maybe because it wasn't hot, it wasn't as flavorful as I anticipated.
An excellent experience!…got a call back for a last minute reservation - Stockbridge is a small town - reserve ahead…spoke to Abby - the boss - she greeted us and kept the place running as smoothly as it gets. Food was just as good as the interested and attentive service.

I had an absolutely amazing dinner with my partner tonight. She ordered the lamb shank with mashed potatoes, and I had the penne pesto — both dishes were delicious! For dessert, we shared an incredible ice cream that was the perfect finish to our meal.
Our servers Jasper & Shanique were fantastic friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Avie, the owner, was such a sweetheart; she even sat with us and shared a glass of wine, which made the experience feel extra special.
And last but certainly not least, Mia was simply amazing. Her professionalism and soft-spoken warmth made the entire evening even more welcoming and memorable.
Highly recommend this restaurant — from the food to the people, everything was perfect! 🍷🍝✨

Wonderful place we just happened upon. They fit us in at the end of the night when other establishments stopped serving early. The food was amazing, the service was top notch and cute little place and atmosphere. We are so glad the other place shut down early. There was no way their food could have been close to this place. Thank you for a meal to remember.

We made a reservation weeks ago, and arrived on saturday and were promptly seated. We had dined here once last year, and were impressed by their food and service; but this time….not so much. We shared some fresh bread rolls, with olive oil-dry herbs for dipping; this was good. We shared the ‘caesar salad romaine lettuce, shredded aged parmesan cheese, croutons + anchovies ‘ This was freshly prepared, and tasted just right with a hint of lemon juice. But WHY the dry tiny croutons? Obviously not freshly made. They were too hard to chew. My wife ordered the ‘blackened red snapper mashed potatoes or rice, green beans, mango pico de gallo + charred lemon ‘ This sounded tasty but sadly the fish was dry to the taste, and lacked any sense of freshness. My ‘roasted chicken breast mashed potatoes, green beans, jus’ The chicken was over-cooked and chewy and hard to cut with the dull knife I was given. the mash potato seemed a little on the wet side, lacking any real flavour. The worst insult were the green beans, they were so chewy that I summoned the waiter over. The place was buzzing with activity and of course their tables were all full, but the kitchen did not deliver. Food was just bland, and not well prepared. Its difficult these days to find a decent restaurant cooking good food…when a touristy town like Stockbridge attracts the crowds, prices go up; wine by the glass was in double digits; and if only the food was good. ~tiaotse~
