Stepping into the Bullard Eatery feels like a delightful pause during our visit to Old Sturbridge Village Road in Southbrigde,Massachusetts.It offers a welcome respite with its charming, slightly rustic ambience. I called to be sure we could come in for lunch, and told sure. Arrived 30 minutes later to find they were hosting a conference and told we could not be seated/. They really should have advised us to make a reservation. Making do, we waited for a seat at the bar, only to find there were 2 seats available the whole time. Then multiple tables opened up, but were brusquely told by the bartender we had to ‘stay with her; my order was not right, and then we were overcharged!!!!...
It is far too small for the amount of people that go during busier parts of the year. I was there for Sturbridge Village's Christmas Lights event and finding seating was a serious problem. The upstairs is entirely empty, they should add some seating up there during busier times. It is also much more akin to a cafeteria than a tavern.
