So sorry you are closing. We lost Old Village Grille, and then you. Whats next? Great place, great people, great food. Take care of yourselves.

A lovely little place, it had the best corn chowder that I have ever had!

Very very nice experience. Definitely recommend cute place the man running the shop was very friendly and nice reminded me of my grandpa sweet and kind. Food was good and really enjoyed the seating area. Kinda expensive but what isn’t now everything is going up it’s better to support a small business then a corporation.

What a lovely spot to have a quiet lunch.
The owner/cook/waiter/busboy/dishwasher was the nicest gentleman you could ever have the pleasure to meet. The cranberry walnut chicken salad sandwich I had was incredibly delicious!

We drove out from Palmer this morning 3/21/25 to have lunch. We were rudely greated by the owner as we walked in the door. He yelled I'm not open!! and continued mumbling something, then as we were walking away he yelled something else we didn't understand. We wait and went back after 12:00 and was yelling at a lady for standing in his doorway and complaining about a few others that went in and sat down. He stormed out past my wife and I saying something about freaking people

The way I rate places is the five stars are the establishments to lose. I rate 3 for service for those folks who won’t read through the full review. Please read on…

If you are looking for truly handmade with love food in a nostalgic environment for a fair place the Soup to Nuts is worth a try. If you are looking for enormous servings of over processed industrial food served with a corporate smile then this place is not for you. Visit if you are feeling adventurous, and don’t if you are hangry or have the whole flock in tow.

Our food was wonderful from a short menu of food that’s on the owners personal favorites list. Our service was great too once we moved past an expected greeting.

Soup to Nuts once was all that and a bag of chips. Now it’s a gem hiding in the shadow of its self. The owner is quite literally chief cook and bottle washer. A little patience and level set expectations will make your next visit an unexpected treat.

My wife had a long time that she wanted to go to that place since the exterior decoration as a retro balcony style fascinated her, she took her by surprise for her birthday when I stood at the door... The Lord looked at us badly from inside when he tried to open the door... it was closed and he began to shout at us reluctantly that it is closed and to move his hands in a gesture that we leave... We were in shock... We were left thinking what happened and a good person who comes out of the flea market tells us that they too. I treat them equally.

In short:
It's a very nice place BUT you have to be willing to be treated badly as a customer, a broken wish for my wife and the restaurant is only facade and I don't give it negative -10.

This independently owned cafe is amazing. The sweet man that makes these sandwiches really puts a-lot of love in them , you can taste it❤️ my husband ordered the hot pastrami sandwich (which was to DIE for) and I ordered the turkey bacon melt DELICIOUS! Such a wholesome and nostalgic place to have a nice lunch definitely made my day stopping here and ill be coming back again and again

The dining area and presentation was cuuute but oh my goodness, the absolute worst customer service around! My partner and I love soup but frankly, we’ll have to cut this place out. The website says 3pm closing so we got there at 2pm yesterday. The guy mouthed off to me and said covid was the reason the website was wrong. Covid happened SIX YEARS ago. Acknowledge the website error, apologize, and say sorry but you’re closed. Do not call me a derogatory name after I walk away. My partner is an empath and even he was shocked how bad the counter guy treated me and how nasty his mouth got towards me. I really hope who was speaking wasn’t the owner!

I just ran into Soup to Nuts and let me tell ya… nothing short of AMAZING! It is the best! So super fresh! My sandwich was awesome. The corn beef!! Out of this world! The corn chowder always so delicious! If your local you’ve GOT to get in there for lunch. If you’re coming from afar you better believe you can not beat this place for lunch! Every bite is superb!😊👍

The place is so quaint and homey. The clam chowder is simply amazing and so are the pastrami sandwiches and Corned beef melts! I love it here. John is trying his best and does it great as a one man show.

I have been visiting Soup to Nuts since I was a small child with my mother. It’s always very nostalgic to have a meal here. Stopped in today and it was just as good as always! Best clam chowder around and the corned beef is always delicious! I hope Soup to Nuts stays open for years to come

What a hidden gem, my wife and I had home made chicken soup, I had a cornbeef sandwich, on home baked bread. This place has a gentle ease to it. My only complaint is he is not in my town!
Owner is very nice to talk to. We try to get out there a few times a year. Never has disappointed! Looking for a nice sandwich, or some of the best soup you will find, give them a visit! If he reads this, Thanks Again!
