We made reservations for my husband’s birthday. Arrived for the hostess to rudely tell us she did not have our reservation. They didn’t look very busy but I’m sure they had people coming in as we arrived at 6:00. She didn’t offer a seat at the bar or any apology. Very rude. Very disappointing. We won’t be back any time soon.

They couldn’t seem to cook a medium steak. The side dishes were very good.

Coming from the Midwest, I am used to good steak restaurant chains, but today I found my favorite in Sturbridge, Massachusetts. The restaurant offers a very casual vibe divided between lounge and restaurant, but the food is among the best qualities that so far I have encountered with the big chains in the Midwest. That is no small feat! I like to add that as a single visitor to the area, I was enjoying my dinner at the bar and Tony the bartender did his utmost to keep the atmosphere comfortable and his clients satisfied to the max. I rarely write reviews, but in this case, I felt it was fully justified. Kudos to the Porter House steak restaurant and it’s amicable stuff.

The Porterhouse restaurant is a great place for a great meal. Service was very friendly , hospitable and attentive. The food was cooked to perfection. However , a top shelf restaurant also comes with a top shelf price. Before making the trip , Review the menue. This is not a McDonalds

My wife and I find ourselves in the Sturbridge area a few times a year and we always stop here to eat. The food is always amazing as is the service.
Today we stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner with our young children. I ordered the bone-in ribeye and my wife and kids had various appetizers, small plates, and dessert. Everything tasted great and everyone was happy. Our server Abby was amazing! Very attentive, friendly, and patient (especially with our kids). Can't wait until we're in the area again to stop in for another great meal!

Love it here. I heard they used to serve delicious flatbread. Might be a good idea to bring it back in the menu

Ordered the NY strip Sirloin steak. Done OK but very thick and hard to cut and was chewie. Should have gone with the 8 oz filet...even though it was $60. Overall, not worth the price.

Everything worked out except for the ada access. It's technically compliant into the space but my father in law struggled in the "ada" bathroom which seems to no longer have a sign, which I assume is due to its lack of compliance. Food was good. Everyone's enjoyed it.
Wheelchair accessibility: See notes above, father in law struggled in the "ada" bathroom which seems to no longer have a sign, which I assume is due to its lack of compliance.

Visiting from RI, my husband and I went to Sturbridge Potterhouse to celebrate our anniversary, we both had filet mignon made to perfection, melt in your mouth; the asparagus and green beans were so nicely crisp, and the whipped and potatoes gratin were amazing! To our surprise, the oysters Rockefeller were insanely good! I can leave out the apple walnut chopped salad, it was delicious. The only downside is the lackluster ambiance if that is what you are looking for. Our waiter Mica was the best!

Cons: The place is like a big empty barn. Zero atmosphere/ambience. Really killed the good things that were going on. We had to work at getting the server's attention a couple times.
Pros: The food was excellent though pricey. The background music was good and at a low volume so it didn't interfere with conversation.
