This is the oldest traditional Japanese restaurant in Western Massachusetts, which opened in 1972. I went there 35 years ago, and it is just as fantastic as it was then. Highly recommend. 👌

Came as a group of 4 adults and ended up sitting beside a complete stranger. At the table across from us, a loud argument broke out between a couple with the woman storming out. Kids were allowed at the table with the chef tossing fire and food into the air……. Not that cool. LOL, I actually live 1/2 mile up the road. I hadn’t been there in decades, now I remember why. BTW, the whole Japanese theme was ruined by our Mexican chef. Two thumbs down. 👎🏻👎🏻

One of my favorite local restaurants. The woman who owns it is always very pleasant to speak to. The staff are attentive and caring. Food is delicious.
Vegetarian options: They were very accommodating for my vegetarian friends.
Kid-friendliness: We were seated with a small child and his mother. The chef made sure the experience was fun for the child and everyone else.

The hibachi was not as good as expected but it was fine. The soup, salad and drinks were good though. It did take about 40 minutes for our appetizers to be brought out.
This is my first time. It was also my first hibachi experience. I opted out of sitting at a hibachi table Because frankly, it just freaks me out.
However, the food is amazing. There wasn’t one thing that wasn’t unbelievably delicious.
Course meal, and it never disappointed
It was very busy and we were one of the first three tables to be seated after opening and it filled up really fast and got busy really fast and the whole ordeal was about 2 hours . Service was exceptionally slow. I wouldn’t come here again if I was in a hurry or didn’t have time to spare, but if I have nothing to do for a couple hours, heck, yeah I’ll be back.
Dietary restrictions: it was very easy for them to accommodate my mushroom allergy and if you know anything about hibachi almost everything comes with mushrooms..

Simple atmosphere and food, my wife and I had a great time. It was nice enough for a date, but also a place to bring kids.
We love the hibachi table experience at Goten of Japan. The food is excellent and served in large portions. The chef is always entertaining and fun to watch and the price is decent.
