We went to Anthony's Pier 4 Cafe for dinner because we were in the area. We had a window seat overlooking the beach and a delicious meal.
A classic and never disappoints. Refreshing to see the hosts wearing suits and ties which fits with the elegance of this beautiful restaurant. Food is outstanding and the bartenders know what they are doing. Service is always professional and friendly.
Anthony's Pier 4 in Swamscott, MA is a superb dive Ning experience. The decor is tops, tables neat with white tablecloths, views of the ocean through tall and wide windows most serene. The service was tops and the food and drinks everything and more of what you expect from a top-tier restaurant. We couldn't recommend this restaurant highly enough. By all means come and enjoy!
We always have a great meal here! Tani the waiter is excellent along with the other waitresses. Their Cosmopolitans are the best!!
We both had the sirloin strip. Our steaks were perfect! Prepared EXACTLY as requested. My wife likes Medium Plus, I like rare plus. Perfect. Excellent cut of meat amd seasoned just righ. Tender and flavorful. The GLover Salad (Caesar's) was yummy. The popovers and mushrooms were delicious as well. Our server was attentive and helpful. Highly recommened!
We were promptly seated and given our ice water and asked if we wanted cocktails. No problem there The server never introduced herself, I had to ask as there was no name tag. Her uniform was less than clean stellar( having worked there for many years back in the 70s days it was a far cry from outstanding service, friendliness, and introduction). We felt rushed and ordering, and there was only two parties in the entire restaurant, and we were in the Tavern area. We requested the mushrooms, and were probably given those along with our cocktails. We ordered two appetizers and had to request the popovers to come with them . Something that has never happened in the 50+ years that I've been going to Anthony's. Mushrooms, popovers, and appetizers Met our expectations per usual. Prompt service was not something that was exceeded, or clearing away clutter and used dishes and silver on the table. We decided to split the smoked salmon appetizer, which was absolutely outstanding! Another disappointing aspect was the server was not aware of ingredients and specials, whether the salmon was wild or farm raised, or what the daily veg was. Having been in this business for over 50 years, I was very disappointed in the caliber of help that peer for is now employing. I do understand that they will be closing soon, however, the standard should never be subpar! Having been a employee there for many years I would've been fired on the spot for treating clients the way that we were treated this evening. Overall, the food was outstanding, and even with giving the server a 25% tip, somebody needs to train her to the Anthony's standard
We love this old restaurant! The filet mignon is delicious. The view is incredible. We feel like family whenever we go.
After reading the reviews and seeing a poor 3.9 stars, I am glad my friends and I did not eat here. We were visiting from out of town over the weekend and decided to try Anthony's Pier 4. Upon entering we (three Americans from India) were greeted by three older white men. Immediately we could tell we weren't welcomed. When asked if there was a wait, one of the gentleman informed us of a 30 minute wait. I asked if we could put our name on a list and we were advised to just come back in 30 minutes and that they would not take our name. The restaurant did not appear busy, and all three men along with the bar tender glared at us as we walked out. Welcome to blue Massachusetts.

Glad to see a North Shore tradition back in operation. The location is lovely, and the food is great. They have the best popovers, high quality meats and seafood, and the best Baked Alaska on the North Shore. Our party of eight had a wonderful experience.

Love the food here. Served professionally by the staff in a quiet room with great ocean and Boston Skyline views. Visit!

A classic. One of the loveliest restaurants in the area with a beautiful ocean view and a light and airy interior. Service is always wonderful and there are not many places left where you are greeted by a gentleman wearing a suit and tie. Food is outstanding as is the bar service.
The restaurant is dated. Ceiling tiles are stained, window sills need to be painted. The interior feels abandoned. The food is good and so is the view. It seems like a large supper club that has been neglected.
A favored restaurant for us. The food is always great and the service is usually good to very good. This time, the food did not disappoint, but the service was terrible from start to finish. It won't stop us from going back...sometime....but we will not have this waitperson serve us. Management needs to screen, train and supervise better, as it is ultimately responsible.
The Ambience was very special sitting by the windows overlooking the ocean. The service was exceptional and the food . We always love the fresh hot popovers. They are my family's favorite I give Anthony's a Five Star They have their own.parking lot You can get dropped off at the front door. There is plenty of handicap parking right at the door.It was my birthday so we had a great celebration ? The bathroom are clean and has a lovely decor. We hope to go back soon Five Star Thank you Mary, Paul, Jan and Rich
