We should have a known, on a Saturday night, the restaurant was half empty. We sat for quite a while before anyone came to us. We were greeted with, “I guess you're my table”. No beer on tap is also not a good sign. We asked for the beer list, and got handed a scribbled piece of note paper that had the beers written down on it. We ordered calamari as an appetizer, and received a plate full of lettuce with about a dozen tiny calamari on it. We then saw all the tables with popovers and kept waiting for for ours. Finally, we asked a busboy why we didn't receive any, because our server was long gone. He replies, “Well you have to ask for them”? What? We then saw someone at the table next to us send back their meals, and leave. We cancelled our dinner and left.... Someone needs to take over this once thriving place and make it great again!

Classic old school Boston seafood restaurant. Incredible location on the rocks at Swampscott, just over the line from Lynn, and 10 minutes from Logan. First class atmosphere and service. Seafood as fresh as anywhere, and perfectly prepared without pretentious embellishments. The prices are not cheap, but they are substantially less than some of the nouveau spots in the Seaport, and the food is twice as good at Anthony's. There is plenty of free parking, and a separate bar area near the entrance, also overlooking the water.

Anthony's Pier 4 was and is still one of the last grand restaurants of New England. Great food, location, service, and ambiance. As long as it's still there we'll make the drive from Hopkinton.

My sister was up from N.J. and I brought her to this fine restautany knowing we would have a great meal. And we did! She said, looking out at the water, this is the epitome of New England charm and style! Candle lit and white linen adorned, our Martinis and ice cold, fresh oysters started us off...complimentary hot popovers and marinated mushrooms led to their famous lobster bisque. The rest of the meal and dessert, was fabulous! Service was professional, warm, and timed just right! You must go there!!

The food was ok, not worth the high price in my opinion. Wanted to take a walk down memory lane and we did. Service was good and extras like popovers were lovely. Would I go back? Not with all the wonderful choices around.

Great experience for a small group dinner to celebrate a family milestone birthday. Staff was VERY accommodating and followed request through OpenTable messenger to have a bottle of champagne at the table. Food was excellent, and the pop-overs were just delicious!

The food was largely quite good -- and the service excellent. The prime rib, lobster bisque, and sole were especially good. Our guest and I agreed that the Negronis we ordered were the worst we had ever had: whoever made them had simply no idea how to make (or to serve) one! The tab was very high for the experience but the views are exceptional and the entrees appetizing.

Consistently excellent food highlighting local Seafood. Of standing management and staff with excellent attention to detail do not miss the Glover salad and steaming hot pop over the view of the Atlantic and the Boston skyline in the distance is breathtaking particularly at sunset.

Busy New Year's Eve. Food was excellent. Staffing was barely adequate, but server still managed to do a good job. There was a long wait for entree but it was hot and well prepared on arrival. We will definitely return.

Terrible New Year's Eve Dinner. Very strange ambience with 4 of the possible owners greeting us but did nothing to direct where coats went, where to sit, get help with poor service. They just stood around talking. Wine took about 30mins and no water refills unless walked to front desk to ask. Entrée took 60 mins to arrive after we had eaten appetizers which were good. All the entrees were tasteless and one steak went back 3 times as it was overcooked then raw not even rare. So they had nothing to eat for a main dish. One of the owners came to see why the food was sent back 3 times and suggested prime rib. When it came it didn't look good and tasted chewy fully of thick gravy not au jus.One waitress many tables. There is more but this is enough to fairly demonstrate our experience.

We requested to have a table by the window on the Open Table reservation app and we were not given one. There were 2 tables that remain vacant by the window the entire time we were there. The restaurant was not busy at all and we were the only people not given a table by the window. Food was good and our waitress was very nice.

Went here on a date for my fiancés birthday. We included that it was a birthday in the reservations notes. The restaurant was empty so we asked to sit at the bar instead of a table since it was a bit more lively in that area. The bartender gave us menus and wanted us to immediately order. We asked for drinks then put in an app promptly after. The app and bread/butter came out right away. We then asked if we could order entrees for after the app. We placed the order then began to eat. Not even getting halfway through the app, our bartender started to clear all of our plates and silver wear then asked “are you done?” So obviously we just said yes. Felt extremely rushed for no reason, especially since there was nobody in the place. It was only 7pm when we got there for dinner and this all happened by 7:15. The food was mid at best. Filet was over cooked, and we were up charged for sauces we didn't order. Won't be back. Terrible birthday experience. I'd expect more for the prices they charge.

From the moment of our arrival we were treated like royalty. There is plenty of easy parking and if you don't have a car, public transit drops off right in front on the street. The whole night was a fun, easy, classy experience. Everyone in our party felt pampered and well looked after. The food was tasty, at the right temperature and well plated - a treat for the eyes and the taste buds! We were a party of four and all had excellent experiences with our drinks, appetizers, meals and dessert. The marinated mushrooms and were perfectly cool, fresh and delicious. The popovers were divine and came with plenty of butter to melt on the inside of them. We had personable attention from our waiter and from others working the dining room. The views of the water are unparalleled. HIGHEST recommendation.

The food at Anthony's is consistently wonderful! The Glover salad is always tasty and fresh, the popovers are fantastic, the marinated mushrooms are a treat, and the cod is delicious! I highly recommend this place, as it is a step above many other dining establishments:)
