First time at G bar on date night with my wife. We ordered 3 apps and 2 entrees. Apps: Mussels: 4/5 pretty good, great sauce Mushroom Strudel: 2.5/5 ok, better with the sauce form the mussels Meatballs: 0/5 they tasted really dry and crumbled in your mouth. Overall, felt they lacked flavor. Entrees Lamb chops: 3/5 lamb was cooked perfectly, and sauce was good. I was looking forward to the potatoes with blue cheese, but they were quite salty. Limoncello Risotto: -3/5 my wife took 3 bites, I had 2. My wife said it tasted undercooked and in her words "reminded her of vomit.l I tried it and it tasted like undercooked Arborio rice with no flavor. All in all, we collectively took 5 bites. All in all, I think we left over 85% on the plate and decided not to take it home. Service was 6/5. They were attentive, and when my wife didn't eat the risotto, both the server and the manager were very reactive in asking for feedback. In full transparency, they comped the risotto off our bill.

This review is based on my most recent experience at G Bar. My husband and I have been here many times and enjoyed it. This last visit was disappointing. We arrived about 7 minutes late for a 5:30 pm reservation and the hostess immediately told us our table was also reserved for 7:30 p.m. (two hours after our reservation). I don't need to know that. It felt like pressure. The restaurant has always been busy and loud, but this time it was over the top. People standing and talking to others at the bar were practically on top of our table and others. And it was really, really loud. I can deal with all of that. What felt different this time was the size of the entrees. They were much too big. The steak special was huge with a very rich wine sauce. I am an eater. I love steak (really!) and I could only eat a few bites. One of our companions had the veal marsala (described as scallopini cut thin) -- but the veal was cut too thick and the preparation was also very rich. She, too, could only take a few bites. The lighter dish at the table was a breaded, fried chicken dish with salad greens and burrata. But it was bland - really needed more seasoning. The server was, as always, outstanding. Fixed a drink order problem immediately and was incredibly gracious. We've had a couple of different servers, consistently, and we love them. I’m submitting this review because this particular visit was disappointing. I’m hopeful this was an anomaly.Parking: I'm not aware of any parking lot for G Bar. We park on the street, but we often have to park way down and hoof it up to the restaurant.

This was such an incredible experience. Our drinks, appetizer, and entrees were better than my partner and I could've imagined. The staff was incredibly kind from the moment we entered until the moment we left. A lot of the staff have been working there for 5+ years so they were passionate and informative about the restaurant and what it has to offer. & Our server, Bill, was the greatest, shout out to Bill! We will for sure be back.

Food great. Service was good while not busy. Then some regulars came in and I felt ignored. Asked for a wine recommendation for my entree and response was “ I'll get a list” which took some time and then took a while to come back to ask what I wanted. At that point i said pass as I was done my entree before it got cold. The wine was irrelevant at that point and ruined my experience

I have been dining at G Bar and Kitchen for over the past 12 years. The food is always spot on perfect. The drinks are divine. The service is always on point. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. You can clearly see why they have been open for 15 years.

This is a gem of an eatery. I love the menu as It’s perfectly limited but choices will please everyone’s pallet. The atmosphere is top notch but quaint. Table Linens are a wonderful feature. The butternut squash arancini, the lollipop lamb chops and the short ribs Osso bucco was ?. It can be difficult to get a reservation spur of the moment, but that’s a good sign.

Terrible table to be below the bar, feeling that our drinks and food were below people, one woman flicked her hair back a number of times. A bit nasty while eating or drinking. Would probably be better if tables that close to bar were high tops

Haven't been to G Bar in a few years and this didn't disappoint. Excellent dishes and everything from Eggplant to Lamb was excellent. Preparations were spot on. Dumplings were crispy and salads perfect.

Overall our dinner and service was very good. The lamb chops were just a tad overcooked but good quality and taste. The Chicken Cutlet was a bit overcooked/dry but again good especially the burrata. Service was excellent.

I went for an early dinner with a friend. We were indecisive on what to order and the waiter was great in helping with the decision making. We both decided on the special which was pan seared halibut with mashed potato and roasted cauliflower. We started with an order of the butternut arancini. The entire meal from start to finish was delicious. I was not sure about the Halibut but the waiter convinced us that is was fabulous and he was right. I've yet to ever have a meal there that wasn't above and beyond my expectations. Thank you Chef Gregg

We love G Bar & Lil G. We go there frequently and it's always 5 star plus. Greg and his team are outstanding. Thank you to all. Ollie, Franny, Bill, etc. etc. all are excellent. Food is always terrific and drinks the best! We are so lucky to have this gem in our town and neighborhood!

Excellent restaurant in Swampscott. More upscale than walk-in Little G's. No nuts in kitchen which is a BIG plus for those with nut allergies. Shared meatball appetizer was tasty and a generous portion for two. My wife had seared tuna entree which was excellent. I had chicken Milanese which was a bit dry....a red or cream sauce would enhance it. Has a lemon drizzle but that did not come through. Chocolate cake with gelato dessert superb.
