Alex’s Roast Beef & Seafood

The roast beef sandwiches are warm, tender, tasty... literally one of the best things I've ever put in my mouth. One of the seven wonders of the food world. If you're a foodie (like me) and have never had a roast beef sandwich from the North Shore, go out of your way to try one. It's nothing like the boars head crap you get in the rest of the world. Fries were great too. I didn't try the pizza.

This was a random stop for me and the wife after deciding we weren't making it home. (We were starved from Apple picking all morning)

We got off 95 in topsfield and just took a right on main Street thinking "there must be a spot on main Street".

Enter Alex's Roast Beef! We asked a kid outside how the food was, he was eating a slice of pizza. "Pizzas ok, but the roast beef is the best" that works for me!

Staff was very nice and inviting as well! I walk in and see them packaging up a steak and cheese (my favorite) it looked great so I ordered one with peppers and onions, I also turned around and saw pictures of Dave Portnoy giving the roast beef a 9.9. I ordered a junior beef with sauce cheese and mayo. Both were amazing. My wife got the grilled chicken sub, the chicken was some of the best we've had at any sub shop!

Needless to say if we're EVER in the topsfield area we will be returning to Alex's ??

We are from the West Coast, where finding a decent sandwich or sub is like finding a needle in a haystack. We are here every year visiting family and always make a point to go to Alex's. The girls at the front are friendly and sweet, and the food is top-notch! My husband had roast beef on an onion roll, and I swear there was at least 3" of beef on there! I had a BLT sub that was STUFFED with bacon!! We've always been impressed with Alex's and will continue to go back. We highly recommend visiting!!

I recently tried the roast beef sandwich and shrimp scampi pizza??, and both were fantastic! The roast beef sandwich was delicious and perfect amount of meat (huge). I highly recommend both dishes!

Can't beat the roast beef here. The seafood is also surprisingly delicious. My whole having can't get enough of Alex's.

Must be a new girl working there. Been ordering from them for years. But now service is rude. She is snippy, rude, short, with a very bad attitude problem. No room in the market for that. Ill simply go down the street to topsfield pizza. I simply will not put up with terrible rude service, not after a long hard day. The nerve of that little girl to talk to good customers that way. Cant advise you not to go there...but i will never go there again and give that rude little girl any of my hard earned money.And youre reply is to assume that it was ME who was rude. What a rediculous thing to say! You were not on that call I WAS. What did you think that little girl would say..."yes, i was a real a hole to that guy on the phone" of course she will not say that. The idea that young people take personal responsibilty is long gone in todays world. If i got angry with the way SHE talked to ME..its because SHE talked to ME in a rude snippy attitude a hole way. And thats that. Take responsibility and stop blaming your customers..JUST ANOTHER REASON WHY ILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN.. went to topsfield pizza amd they were terrific.

Upon a professional seemingly concerned response from the owner I have decided to remove my 1 star review and replace it with this. to be clear it's not because anything I said was untrue. more because I hate to hurt any local small business. maybe I'll come again maybe I won't. I'm not looking for a refund and will remain anonymous. I will add that the last bad meal was Wednesday December 20th between 12 and 4 whoever was in the kitchen specifically making beefs that shift needs some serious training. but this was not the first. as I mentioned past 6 months not great. hope you can get things sorted out.

It was a good surprise for us. My husband I went to Mass Audubon, and on the way home, we ate late lunch there. I ordered Chicken kabob salad, my husband got Lamb kabob salad. Chicken was delicious! It was grilled so taste very good. My husband liked his lamb. The portion is very big! The price is reasonable. The french fries are good too. We will stop by next time when we visit Audubon again!
