This place has AMAZING food, they are VERY allergy and celiac accommodating. I have celiac disease and have to be strictly gluten free and I always feel safe eating here. Their fryer is dedicated gluten free. They have a treasure chest where the kids can all pick out a toy. The space is so cute and very clean and the patio is very inviting and shady. 10/10!!
Corn and lobster already go together well, so what better way to enjoy Lobster is there, when you put fresh Lobster and pico de gallo in a corn tortilla! Fish MV on Martha's Vineyard delivers a perfect Lobster taco on there comfortable beautiful raised deck, with a perfect island breeze. Attention @bostonlobsterroll , you need to try these!

Just not great food. Being gluten-free myself, I was excited for the many gf offerings. Unfortunately it let us all down.
The calamari was over cooked and too thin, tasting like burnt bread with a pretty similar consistency. My tuna poke bowl’s rice was cold and hard like leftover rice that’s been sitting in the fridge. Was told this was normal sushi rice by the staff… eventually they gave me fresh rice - the tuna was decent. I’m told the Baja chicken bowl was “fine.” The guacamole lacked any seasoning whatsoever and is not worth it. Lobster sliders I’m told were good. Best thing I tasted was my virgin piña colado, which tasted like the real thing and not from a pre-made mix - much better than the iced tea.
The manager came to check on us towards the end. She was nice and comped a couple items. Unfortunately, the issues seem to lie with the kitchen team, like other reviewers have noted. Not worth your time or money until they fix that.
We had a fantastic lunch at Fish MV. Stefania took great care of us. She was very friendly and attentive! Highly recommend!
Fish MV just stepped it up! The new indoor seating is stylish and cozy—perfect for any weather. Plus, the addition of table service makes the whole experience smoother and more enjoyable.
The food is as fresh and delicious as ever, and their gluten-free options are some of the best around. Great vibe, great service, and something for everyone. A must-stop in Vineyard Haven!
Five-Star Dining at FishMV – Fresh Food, Great Service, and a Cozy Atmosphere
We had an early dinner at FishMV and were thoroughly impressed! The food was incredibly fresh, the drinks were delicious, and the service was top-notch. Best pina colada in island - subbed out the rum for titos and I’ll drink it all day everyday!! One of the best improvements is the new table service – it’s such a welcome change not having to get up to place your order. Everything felt relaxed and seamless, making for a really enjoyable evening.
The indoor seating is also a big plus, especially on rainy days or when the weather turns cooler. It’s comfortable, inviting, and adds to the overall great vibe of the restaurant.
Chef Billy – keep up the fantastic work! The quality and care you put into each dish truly show. We’ll definitely keep coming back!
Amazing Seared Tuna. Servers are great… for drinks I recommend the Rum Runner
Great food, relaxed atmosphere, and attentive and kind staff. An oasis of hospitality on an island that can get frantic during the summer.
Visited Fish MV in Vineyard Haven and left deeply disappointed by the food quality relative to the high prices.
We ordered:
• Maryland Crab Cakes ($26): These were the highlight of the meal — decently flavored and well-textured. However, they came with a limp, wilted side salad that looked like it had been sitting out too long. At this price point, you’d expect a fresher, more thoughtfully plated dish.
• Fish & Chips ($28): The fish was overcooked and borderline burnt, with a batter that lacked seasoning. The interior was bland. It was served not with fries (as one might reasonably expect from a dish called “fish & chips”) but with a handful of tortilla chips, which felt like a cost-cutting substitution. The only redeeming element was the tartar sauce.
• Tequila Lime Shrimp Tacos ($30): This dish was the most disappointing. The shrimp tasted pre-cooked and reheated, lacking any brightness or freshness. The tacos were heavily dressed with a creamy sauce that masked rather than elevated the flavor. The accompanying rice was over-salted and had dried-out bits that suggested it had been sitting in a pan for too long. The black beans were acceptable, but the side as a whole felt like an afterthought.
All dishes looked more appealing in presentation than they tasted — the photos flatter them. Unfortunately, the flavor and freshness didn’t match. Waiting about 15 minutes between the starter and entrées wasn’t unreasonable, but combined with the underwhelming food, it added to the sense of disorganization.
Ambience: Pleasant. The outdoor seating is cozy and inviting.
Service: Adequate, neither warm nor inattentive.
Bottom line: We paid $105 for a meal that, based on quality, should’ve cost closer to $30–$40. The ingredients felt generic, and the execution was careless. If you’re dining out in Martha’s Vineyard and are expecting seafood that justifies the price, this isn’t it.
We are Island residents and have been frequenting Fish since it opened. The new waiter service is a welcome addition. It adds an air of relaxation to already enjoyable outdoor experience. Food has greatly improved and the drink selection is expanded with the new full bar. Recommend trying the calamari and oysters.

The patio space is nice… But the service was poor. You go up and order everything at once, rather than be waited on, which is already inconvenient when thinking about what you want to eat/drink for a meal, plus a full 18-22% tip is still suggested. I also found a very obvious hair in my clam chowder, to which the bus girl said, “oh ok” and just walked away, rather than suggesting a replacement or alternative. The chowder wasn’t even good. The crab cakes were fine.

Great menu (and toys!) for families with kids. Tacos, guac, and margaritas outside with a low key atmosphere. Food is good but not the best on the island. Great for a relaxed evening for the entire family.

Service was terrible, ordered my food at 1:30, and told the guys taking the order, I'm on the 2:30 ferry back. 10 minutes pass, can I help you, are you being helped, I responded, I ordered, how much longer, have to catch the ferry, he responds, don't worry you have enough time. I explained I'm driving on to the ferry not walking. 15 minutes later, can I help, have you ordered... then a rude waitress comes out yelling, "Is this food for you people" explained again, I'm cutting it close, the response was, the ferry bever leaves on time, I can walk on at 2:29. Finally, I received my food at 2:15, a waste of time and money.. Rice was soggy, and fish was unseasoned. Never have a restaurant on the island a bad review before, but this was a terrible experience.

We had no idea walking in we would have to go in and order our food ourselves. There was no sign. We sat at a table for about 10-15 min before we realized what we should do. We went in and ordered and got drinks and food shortly after. Food was great!! Just no one to check how everything is/was or if you need anything. Had to go back in to order another drink. Not sure we will return.
