During a recent visit to The Attic Restaurant, I had the chance to explore a variety of items off their menu and I walked away already looking forward to my next visit.
The meal began with a mix of appetizers and mains—Tuna Tartar, Attic Wings, Beets, Steak Au Poivre, Lobster Corn Fritters , Hot and Cold Lobster Rolls accompanied by drinks. The standouts for me were definitely the drinks, the Hot and Cold Lobster Rolls and the Steak Au Poivre of which all were incredibly flavorful and satisfying. The Attic Wings had just the right amount of kick, the Beets were cooked to perfection, rich and well-seasoned and the Lobster Corn Fritters were packed with flavored and served with a nice size of lump lobster.
However, I thought the side of mashed potatoes did lacked flavor and texture, and the Tuna Tartar didn’t quite live up to expectations and wish there had been more avocado to help balance the taste. The rice was not prepared completely. Overall, the good definitely outweighed the bad.
The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, making it a great spot to unwind and enjoy good food with friends/family. The laid-back vibe, along with the service of Anthony the bartender (definitely ask for him to make your drinks) and Lobster rolls and Steak Au Poivre , makes The Attic Restaurant a place I’ll definitely be returning to.
The atmosphere is great. Good location and feel. The food was 1/2 good and 1/2 mid. The lobster roll was great, Mac n cheese was mid. Our server was trash. Table sat after us got drinks before we got spoken to. Table behind us didn’t receive 1/2 their food while we waited. After he delivered our drinks, someone else delivered food and then, 4 tables got tables cleared and checks given before we got our plates cleared… tables sat after us and received food before us, received their checks before us. 0/10 one of the worst servers I’ve ever dealt with. Such a bummer cause my wife and I looked so forward to this place after some reviews but the clown server was trash and weighted down the evening.
The short rib and gravy on the Poutine was so salty that we could not eat any of it. When I let the waitress know and suggested that the kitchen staff taste it to confirm she just said sorry and then asked if we wanted a box for all that we did not eat.
Delicious food! Our waitress, Alicia, was the best and so kind! She made sure we had everything we needed. The drinks were great, too!
The Attic is hands-down one of my favorite spots on the island. It’s got this perfect speakeasy vibe; glowy, cozy, and full of prohibition-era charm. The drinks are always spot-on, and the food is next level. The burgers are insane, but the chicken has my heart every single time. It’s the kind of place that never gets old, whether you’re out for a date night or just catching up with a friend. Pure magic every time you walk in.
The Attic is absolutely incredible! From start to finish, the experience was amazing. The atmosphere is cozy but stylish, perfect for a relaxed night out. Every dish we tried was full of flavor and beautifully presented, you can really taste the quality of the ingredients. The cocktails were creative and perfectly balanced too. The service was outstanding: attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. Whether you’re visiting the Vineyard or lucky enough to be a local, The Attic is a must-try. I’m already planning my next visit!
The Attic in Vineyard Haven is truly a gem from the moment you walk in, the energy is welcoming, and the drinks are outstanding. Tully, the Beverage Director, is an expert at crafting the perfect cocktail, and the espresso martini is one of the best we've ever had. The entire staff is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and makes every visit feel special, whether you’re grabbing a casual drink or settling in for a full meal.
As for the food, it’s everything you want and more. The burgers are juicy and packed with flavor, the mac and cheese is the ultimate comfort dish with the perfect balance of creaminess and richness, and the chicken wings are absolutely next-level — crispy, flavorful, and unforgettable. The Attic nails that perfect mix of great drinks, incredible food, and a laid-back but polished vibe that keeps you coming back again and again.
PS: if you are a whiskey or bourbon lover, this is THE place for you! Their collection is impressive!
This one is a hard one. One half of our meal was delish, and the other was undercooked and under seasoned. One half of our service was perfect, the other half we went without drink refills. I’ll elaborate. The chicken wings and the salmon* bowl were wonderful (*they even accommodated my request to get it with chicken). My son got fries and chicken fingers. He didn’t like them. Said the chicken was a weird texture and bland. He said the fries were strange. I tried a fry and tend to agree. I’ve never had a fry like that. Definitely room for improvement. My husband got the lemon chicken. It was literally undercooked on the piece by the bone. First, why do restaurants serve “airline” chicken cuts in 2025? They aren’t fancy…they are more of a pain in the butt. Bone meat doesn’t cook as fast therefore it didn’t cook evenly. Unfortunately, we didn’t realize it until he had eaten most of it. I also had a bite. So now we both sit here praying we don’t get food poisoning from it. The lemon chicken sauce was an odd flavor. I will say the mashed potatoes were very good and you could tell they were homemade. We showed the waitress the under done section of chicken and she did the right thing showing the manager who came over and shared the bone piece can be tough to get done etc. He apologized and removed from the bill and provided I think gave us an additional discount. So they definitely did the right thing which I appreciate. But my thought was, if it is known to be a problem, why are we still serving it- I mean, the chicken came already sliced- why wasn’t that being checked. It would have been the simplest thing to have caught before. I would have thought that would have been why it was being sliced- to double check. The cook or the line person should be checking that on everyone. They really just need to scrap that dish. The atmosphere is cute and quaint. We didn’t order cocktails, but the ones we saw the bar making looked amazing.
the food was absolutely amazing! i had the ceaser salad and it was delicious. the servers were friendly and the food came fairly quick for the the amount of customers. the place was very pretty, lovely music playing. bathrooms were clean and well kept. fair prices! over all an amazing meal, great job to them! i recommend this place if your in the area.

Should be rated higher than the 4.5 stars they have as I write this.
Great food, exceptional whiskey list, and good wine. No, it isn’t water front but it has good windows and is very cozy.
Highly recommended!

After the frustration of missing our earlier ferry and arriving at Martha’s Vineyard much later than planned, we were relieved to find The Attic open when most other places were closed. Located upstairs with a cool speakeasy vibe, the atmosphere was just what we needed. The food was fantastic—definitely try the poutine and the hot lobster roll! The drinks were great as well, and the overall experience really turned our night around. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for good food, drinks, and a laid-back vibe on the island.

How this place doesn’t have a full 5 stars I don’t know. Atmosphere, food, drinks, staff, all incredible. Were on the island for a week and will be back for dinner a second night while out here.

Went to the Attic last night (again). While service remains attentive if amateurish, the food quality continues to deteriorate after initial promise when the restaurant opened a year or so ago. Is there perhaps a new chef? Anyway, the lobster and corn fritters were so dry and hard that it would take a steak knife, or perhaps a hammer, to open them, and they were really just fried dough with a few corn kernels and a couple of small pieces of lobster meat on the side. And the chicken dinner was similarly dry and overly hard crusted. But the asparagus on the side was great.
