Doors had just open for lunch . Many patrons coming in ,with Traven filling up and only two girls seeming to be working floor that I noticed.
They did exceptional job, as did the cooks getting slammed by orders.
Food was delicious. my codfish sandwich with coleslaw and Brussel Sprout appetizer, that was cooked to perfection, to be enjoyed by all.

This by the water small tavern is an excellent place to sit down and have excellent tasting food and drinks to go with that in a very cozy environment. It has a small menu but everything seems to made fresh, in house, and as per your order. We had very tasty cod fish and red snapper prepared as per the menu entry. Appetizer we had was the calamari. Size is sharable by two and the marinara sauce comes warm, enhancing the taste of the very lightly fried squid rings that are juicy soft, definitely not fried to dry crunchiness. Prices are reasonable for fresh seafood. If you are on the island even for a day, I highly recommend the Black Dog for good food and friendly experience.

Came off season for breakfast with my family. Everything was delicious. The service was quick & our waitress was very pleasant.
The view of the ferries coming in and out adds to your experience.

In all my 61 years this was the worst seafood dining experience ever! I love seafood, I love sushi, the mussels and crab roll were old. I have eaten seafood all my life and the mussels literally made me gag. We returned the mussels and paid for the crab roll. Our dinner $133 for little tiny $17.00 drinks and disgusting inedible seafood. The other dish was a chicken sandwich.it wasn’t too bad.

Gorgeous spot for a late lunch. Loved the atmosphere and the menu was great. We loved the crab cakes and chicken pesto sandwich but everything our party of 5 ordered was well made.
Definitely recommend a visit if you’re visiting the area.

Great chowder! In fact, I never had a bad meal. I visit weekly during the summer. Just be aware of their hours on Sundays, they're a bit different.

Bit disappointing. Our server ghosted us and when he re-emerged he was more interested in chatting up another server who stopped in. The food was fine but lacked a great selection of fresh seafood. Most of it was deep fried.
