It was our first time at the Waltham location. Four of the six of us have been to the Needham location many times. I loved that we could make a reservation and the ambiance was so cool. We all had delicious meals and absolutely would go back. I do love the Needham location though and we have celebrated so many special occasions there.
We ordered several appetizers when we sat down. We waited about 20 plus minutes until I asked about our food. A few minutes later they served us our appetizers and main entrées at the same time.
Had another great meal at Sweet Greens! Try the Brussels sprout appetizer, and the lamb and salmon entrees. And always nice to have their sangria! Friendly and helpful staff with fun, 1960s vibe atmosphere. Sweet Greens is an easy decision for a fun night out!
My group of six had a fantastic experience at Sweet Basil on Moody on Tuesday evening. The atmosphere, food and overall feel terrific but a special shout out is due to our patient and kind server. She heard it was my birthday and brought a slice of the really delish date cake; she dealt with our party asking for a weird check break down and she helped us understand all the pasta shapes. Thank you sweet basil for a wonderful night!
So good! One of the best meals we've all had. Tons of flavor in everything we had. Great vibe. Highly recommend!
Music so loud it was impossible to have a conversation. Even the servers were struggling to hear.
Ate Saturday night. Food took an hour. Chicken parm, tasteless. Braised chicken ok. Shrimp pasta ok. Poor service. Needham location is so much better.

Went on a Saturday evening and there was no wait. The aesthetic of the restaurant was calm and intimate. Service was amazing, and our waiter was attentive to all of our requests. The food itself was awesome, great portion sizes with the gnocchi being my favorite. The ravioli was also pretty good, and the calamari was solid. Bread with pesto is a great app too. All in all I felt the price I paid reflected the quality and experience I had.

What an awful dining experience. The winner of the show was Pesto and bread. The shrimp scampi looked like soup and was flavorless, the Brussel sprout way overspiced and burned, the the basil marinara with meatballs was acidic gloppy and the meatballs huge and flavorless. Chicken farm was really overcooked. Really sad...especially since the food at their Needham location is much better.
We ordered the Eggplant Involtini starter, two entrees--Braised Chicken over Casarecce and Seafood Fra Diavlo; and the Citrus Olive Oil cake). The dishes were delicious and well-prepared. Servings were generously sized. Our server(s) were attentive and the kitchen satisfied our request for no additional salt. We were seated in the back half of the restaurant where it was quieter so it was easy to have a conversation without raising our voices. The music was not loud or distracting. We look forward to future meals at Sweet Basil in Waltham.

We arrived before our reservation, but there was no problem being seated. The notes was friendly and knowledgeable and the waitress was very good, too. We unfortunately over-ordered, but that should be our worst mistake, so we all had leftovers to take home. We'll be back, but maybe this time our eyes won't be bigger than our stomachs!
The owner Ralph Amelia is horrible and rude. Lots of rodents in the back. I would really watch when you eat here!
Amazing food and very cool atmosphere inside. I've been to the other location many times which is also amazing, but small. The Waltham location is much larger which is nice for big groups!
We are long-term fans of Sweet Basil and two of our party took cooking classes from the owner. This place is simply the best. The food is great, the vibe is laid back and pleasant, and the staff are very accommodating and efficient. I asked for the recipe for one of the dishes and walked out with a signed copy of the restaurants' cook book. You cannot go wrong by going here.
